Dr. Tejwant S. Chandi is board certified in Internal Medicine and has extensive experience in practicing internal medicine since 1995. He has been providing state of the art care to the adult and senior population of Northeastern North Carolina since 2000. Dr. Chandi received his medical degree in 1987 from the Government Medical College in Amritsar, India. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Prince George’s Hospital Center in Cheverly, Maryland. After residency, Dr. Chandi practiced for three years with Trinity Medical Center in Minot, North Dakota. In the year 2000, Dr. Chandi along with his young family settled in Elizabeth City and established Albemarle Medical Associates. Dr. Chandi believes in a holistic approach to medicine to treat a person’s entire well being. His special interests include diabetes, cardiovascular disease, preventive care and Mind body medicine. Dr. Chandi is a member of the American College of Physicians and served as the former chief of medicine at the Albemarle Medical Center. He enjoys gardening reading, biking and spending time with his wife and three sons.
