Thessa Moncrieffe, PMHNP

Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
FL
Hello there. Have you been struggling with emotional turmoil or feelings of emptiness? That "I just can't get anything right" feeling? Are you overwhelmed with everyday life and struggling to stay afloat? I am happy to help. I have 23 years of nursing experience, six of which have been dedicated to the field of psychiatry, and less than one year as a board-certified provider. I earned my Master's in Nursing from Walden University. My passion is caring for others, and I am driven by the desire to make a positive impact in the lives of those I come in contact with. My mission is to extend compassion and healing that comes from Christ. My goal is to provide treatment that is culturally sensitive, competent, safe, and efficient. A little more about me: I embrace my history as a born Caribbean Islander but raised here in the United States. I have a deep appreciation for the tropics, and the ocean is my favorite place. I enjoy relaxation, spending time with my family, and embracing my creative side in home interior design. Why psychiatry? I developed a true appreciation for psychiatry after experiencing life-changing challenges of my own and gaining the support needed from some of the most amazing compassionate providers I know. In return, my desire is to extend hope and the same compassion in the lives of those who are experiencing emotional or mental health struggles. My approach: My approach is one that is sensitive, warm, and welcoming-a partnered and supportive approach that will give you peace of mind. I believe in taking a natural, spiritual, and conventional approach, and if medication is an option, I believe in starting low and going slow for the most effective results. I am also dedicated to lifelong learning as a provider so I can provide the most up-to-date, evidence-based, safe, and effective care to those I serve.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Do you often feel judged, that no one cares or understands what you are going through? My desire is for you to leave feeling someone truly cares and understands after each encounter. Let's face it, talking about our emotional or mental state of mind is never one of the easiest topics to discuss, especially when there is associated trauma, hurt, pain, or negative stigma. Whatever it is, you will have a safe place free of criticism or shame, but full of compassion, and understanding for the single purpose of healing, positive progress toward regaining self-sufficiency, and a sense of normalcy in your life once again.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
