About Dr. Thomas Kinney
Dr. Thomas A. Kinney is a passionate Chiropractic Physician dedicated to helping patients achieve relief, optimal function, and peak performance. Dr. Kinney provides patient-centered care designed to foster long-term wellness and resilience.
A native of Johnsburg, Illinois, Dr. Kinney earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Health from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, in 2016. As a Division I athlete, he excelled as a four-year starter, earning 1st Team All-American and All-Conference honors, as well as recognition on the MVFC Academic Honor Roll. Following his collegiate success, Dr. Kinney pursued a professional football career, earning NFL free-agent workouts with the Chicago Bears, Houston Texans, and New York Jets.
After retiring from professional athletics, Dr. Kinney turned his attention to healthcare, earning his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the National University of Health Sciences in 2020. His clinical expertise includes chiropractic manipulative therapy (CMT), spinal decompression, soft tissue therapies, functional neurology, and rehabilitation exercises. Dr. Kinney also employs diagnostic tools such as X-ray evaluations, movement screens, and postural assessments to create tailored treatment plans for his patients.
Dr. Kinney’s commitment to advancing his knowledge has led him to participate in specialized seminars with the International Association of Functional Neurology & Rehabilitation (IAFNR) and Dr. Brandon T. Brock’s Health Systems. These programs have deepened his understanding of neurological pathways, peripheral nervous system evaluation, and effective management of neurodegenerative conditions.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Kinney is passionate about mentoring young athletes. He provides sports performance lessons to high school and college students, drawing on his personal experience as a Division I athlete and NFL free agent to guide aspiring athletes toward their goals.

Doctor Kinney is wonderful to work with. Not only does he treat you, but he educates you on lifestyle approaches to becoming healthier. As an athlete, he understands how my body moves in my sport/position and provides exercises tailored to me.

Dr. Kinney catches the small things that are contributing to the bigger problem. I’ve noticed an almost immediate change in how I feel. I loved my chiro in Michigan and it took a few tries to find someone I trusted in Chicago but I’m so glad I found him!

Dr Kinney was great, I reached out about back pain I was having and he was able to schedule me instantly. He really took the time to explain what was going on with my body and gave me useful tactics to combat pain when I’m home. I can tell he really cares for his patients and does his best to ensure that they are taken care of.
