Since graduating from A.T. Still University, Kirksville, with a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, Dr. McDonough has taken great pride in caring for family members throughout various stages of life. He completed his residency at AMITA Health, Adventist Medical Center in La Grange. Dr. McDonough is dedicated to promoting health and wellness among all his patients.

Staff at desk were okay. Not overly welcoming, but they did their job. The nurse or assistant was wonderful and very friendly. The doctor was great - aside from the fact that he tried to push a certain issue on me, I was pleasantly pleased. There may be some judgement from the world towards believers which is probably welcomed by most. I had a Christian shirt on and he kept mentioning how he "believes the science, trusts the science," etc. I like science too! lol I do not worship it, but yeah it is a great resource and tool! Anyway, overall the doctor really took his time with me and I felt like he sincerely cared about my health. He is passionate about science! But that showed me he loves and believes in what he does. If you're looking for a doctor who takes the time to listen and provide solutions - he's your guy!

Dr. McDonough was great. I am not one to enjoy going to the doctor, but he was very informative, open and honest. The appointment was also very efficient and thorough at the same time.

I was looking for a new primary care physician because my wife and I had just moved. Booking with Dr. McDonough was easy and the office visit was absolutely wonderful. I had a lot of questions because I had not had a check up in a while. He answered all of my questions with clarity and put me at ease. This guy really knows what he's doing and he's really good at making sure you understand your situation. Highest recommendation from me!

Very good doctor. Spent over half an hour with me to walk through my medical history and perform some tests to figure out the issue. Very friendly and thorough. Also, the office staff was great - I only waited a couple minutes to be seen.

Dr. McDonough is an excellent doctor. My husband and I had break through Covid and he couldn’t have been more helpful, compassionate, and responsive to our questions and concerns. He was with us every step of the way. I don’t think our outcome would have been as good if it weren’t for Dr. McDonough. Can’t imagine seeing anyone else from now on.

Immediate disrespect as soon as he walked in the room. I was nothing but polite. Idiot saw my eyes were red, immediately assumed 17 different things about me. Got mad that I knew what I was talking about. I went to the University of Chicago, got a 35 on the ACT. Dude was literally offended that I was asking for specific medication for specific reasons. He was so offended he said “I think I’m gonna be terminating our Dr. patient relationship.” Dude got offended because I went to a different doctor for a different medication (my conscience told me to see a black doctor). Took offense to the fact that I pointed out that he tried to prescribe me beta blockers when I had a problem with low adrenaline. Literally this dude had some kind of power complex. You’ll probably be fine if you do not have any idea why you’re at the doctor’s office.

I’ve finally been blessed enough to have health insurance, so this was my first time being able to see a doctor as an adult, and all I can say, is the doctor and the rest of the staff were incredible. Very personable and nice people. Dr. Thomas is the man!

Dr. Mcdonough was terrific. Clearly very knowledgeable, polite, timely, and very thorough. I appreciated that he was not in a rush, but was efficient and straightforward. I came in with some questions for the doctor and he went through each one with me. He joked around and made me feel so comfortable which is great considering I have an irrational fear of doctors offices. Dr McDonough was so friendly, open, and thorough. As a larger-bodied person I often have terrible experiences with doctors, but Dr McDonough was very realistic with the goals we set (he is not looking to make me a “thin” person), and never did I feel as if he was unaccepting or judgmental. I felt I was in very good hands, and am glad to say I’ve found a doctor I won’t mind seeing again!
