Thomas J. Montell, M.D. has spent twenty-four years specializing in Orthopedic Surgery in the South Bay Southern California area. Dr. Montell attended the University of Notre Dame as a Notre Dame Scholar, majoring in pre-professional studies. He graduated from Notre Dame in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science degree, Summa Cum Laude (With Highest Honors). He also was a member of Phi Beta Kappa at the University of Notre Dame.
Dr. Montell obtained his medical degree from the State University of New York Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, New York. He graduated from there in 1980, and he was the class valedictorian. He completed his internship at the Boston University School of Medicine Affiliate Hospitals, 1980 - 1981. Dr. Montell completed his orthopedic surgery residency at New York Medical College in New York City and in Valhalla, New York, 1981 -1986.

Dr. Montell gave me a cortisone shot to my right knee. I was afraid of the pain from the shot in my already painful knee; he showed me how simple it would be by using a knee model and he explained every step as he performed the procedure in a very kind and compassionate way. Excellent doctor.
