About Dr. Thomas O'brien
Dr. Tommy O has a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences, a Masters Degree in Clinical Nutrition from the New York Institute of Technology, and completed his Family Medicine Residency at St. Barnabas Hospital, Bronx, New York. Dr. Tommy O spent the first sixteen years of his career practicing Primary Care in an underserved community located in the South Bronx. He then opened a private practice on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.

Visit went fine, Dr. Thomas was communicative and helpful, but the follow up communications with the office have been pretty bad.
Have contacted the office numerous times now requesting email documentation of my visit and updates about the status of my refills. I've left my email and my phone number and nobody has contacted me back (been a week).
Friendly doctors but disappointed with lack of organization.

Doctor O’Brien himself is lovely. He is quick but thorough, and he answers any of you questions or concerns.
With that said, his office is a disaster. I had an issue at his queens location with his staff booking appointments on my behalf without telling me, then trying to pressure me into coming for my “medication maintenance” (I was not on any medication).
I came to his Brooklyn location because I needed labs quickly. They didn’t have gowns for the EKG so they asked me if I minded just lifting my shirt up - okay no problem. But the entire time, the other assistant just sat there in the room playing on her phone. She then went in & out of the room 3 times while I was topless, and even let in the gentleman from the front desk again as I, a female patient, is sitting there with my shirt up.
I was supposed to have a follow up tomorrow for my lab results, and they were blowing up my phone today because they had the dates wrong. Even though I got an email confirmation for tomorrow.

Visiting with Dr. O’Brien was a refreshing experience. My husband and I both felt extremely comfortable with him. He took the time and listens to our concerns; he provided useful and helpful information. It is so nice to see a primary care doctor who is not rushing you out of the office in highly recommend Dr. O’Brien.

The office is kinda empty but the staff is very very helpful and the doctor take care in explaining your issues and possible treatment. He really seems to care and the staff is very helpful in dealing with insurance stuff. I will be going back!
