What should a new client know about working with you?

I am direct, solution oriented, and humorous. My humor is dry so I will tell you if my humor is not obvious. My goal is to discuss options for treatment and discuss benefits versus the risks so that the best treatment decision is made for you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I want to make you comfortable with the initial evaluation process so that I have a better understanding why you are requesting treatment. This process may make you uncomfortable initially since some of the questions are discomfiting. Once the diagnostic process is finished then I will discuss treatment options to include medications and psychotherapy. Normally I provide supportive therapy, but we can discuss psychotherapy in tandem with medication management. I encourage all patients to pursue psychotherapy and will provide referrals to you. My major treatment focus is medication management and stabilization of your symptoms and addressing side effects that might occur and minimization of side effects.
