Getting to know Tiara Herring

Hello. It’s a privilege to meet you. My name is Tiara, and I’d love to tell you a bit about myself! My career in healthcare spans more than ten years. I began working as a nursing assistant and licensed practical nurse. It was during these formative years that I knew I wanted to pursue nursing at the highest levels. I went on to earn my Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree (B.S.N.) from Purdue Northwest University and later my Master of Science in Nursing degree (M.S.N.) with a concentration in Family Nursing from Governors State University. I am board-certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in Family Practice and have completed major rotations in family practice, pediatrics, OB-GYN, and primary care psychiatry. I have worked in a wide array of healthcare settings as a nurse—from medical-surgical units in the hospital to outpatient and inpatient dialysis/telemetry clinics to skilled nursing facilities, where I have served as an LPN and RN Supervisor. I am a proud member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society in Nursing and the American Nurses’ Association. I reside in Northwest Indiana with my family. I am a wife and mom to four amazing daughters. I enjoy traveling with my family, doing yoga, and reading books in my spare time.
