Timbolin has been married for over 31 years to her college sweetheart, and they have two adult daughters. She has lived in Bolingbrook, Illinois, since 1989 but grew up in Plainfield, New Jersey, and Chicago's Hyde Park. In her spare time, she enjoys singing, dancing, cooking, going to the movies, museums, theatre, concerts, ballet, fine cuisine, golfing, bowling, playing Scrabble, painting, and traveling when time permits.
