Life brings us many things: joys and struggles; love and pain; calm and uncertainty. And in our current situation, it may feel like we are living in the hardest times. Yet, we all deserve to have a meaningful life despite this current situation. I am a Doctor of Clinical Psychology specializing in Mindfulness Counseling and psychological assessment, and I offer counseling and evaluation services for Colorado residents. I draw from many modalities in my practice, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Family Systems Therapy, though my primary focus is ACT. ACT is an evidence-based approach for treating and addressing many psychological issues, including depression, anxiety, anger, fear, academic struggles, and family turmoil. It bridges the gap between truly being with and understanding your struggles, while simultaneously helping you identify useful solutions for overcoming those struggles. In practice, it allows us to recognize and validate moments of pain or turmoil together, while also forging strength and hope within you through a mindful approach to your inner experiences. However, while ACT informs my approach to counseling, my primary goal in session is helping you achieve a 'Valued Life.' Values are integral parts of our lives: they are the ongoing processes through which we find meaning; the actions we take that fulfill us; the path we choose to walk down even when the road is hard. I strive to help you define your values so you can feel that you have direction in your life and in your interactions. You deserve the life you want. You deserve a life full of meaning. You deserve to be understood when life is difficult. And I would be honored to join you on this journey.
