About Dr. Timothy Tran
Timothy Tran, MD is a board certified dermatologist with a passion for providing comprehensive dermatologic care.
Born and raised in California, Dr. Tran moved to Texas where he pursued his education and career in medicine. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Human Biology from the University of Texas at Austin, followed by a Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences at the University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC). He then completed his medical training at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso Foster School of Medicine, where he was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and served as Vice President of his class.
After medical school, Dr. Tran completed his internship and dermatology residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB). During his residency, he distinguished himself as a leader and educator, being selected as Chief Resident in his final year. His exceptional skills and dedication earned him the Dermatology Resident of the Year award and the Resident Teaching Award.
Dr. Tran is well-versed in all aspects of dermatology, with comprehensive training in medical, pediatric, and cosmetic dermatology. He is passionate about helping patients with a wide range of skin conditions, from common issues like psoriasis, eczema, and acne to more complex dermatologic concerns. In addition, Dr. Tran has extensive experience in cosmetic procedures, including fillers, Botox, lasers, microneedling, and chemical peels, which allows him to offer a full spectrum of dermatologic care tailored to each patient’s needs.
Outside of his practice, Dr. Tran enjoys exploring the vibrant Houston restaurant scene, trying out new eateries, and staying active through regular workouts and playing volleyball. His commitment to both his professional and personal life reflects his holistic approach to health and well-being.

My appointment was okay overall, but the services were below average compared to what I expected. I was told I booked a 10-minute appointment, which was a bit confusing since appointments are usually set for a specific time rather than a time limit. The doctor’s assistant was very nice and professional, which I appreciated. However, the overall service and experience did not quite meet my expectations. I hope the office can improve communication and the overall quality of service for future patients.
