Tony Akpengbe, DNP, holds a Doctorate in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from the University of Massachusetts Global, a doctorate from Brandman University in California, and a Master's in Adult Gerontology Nursing from Walden University in Minnesota. Certified to provide mental health care in California, he has 17 years of experience in mental health and medical care since 2005.

Tony Akpengbe is fantastic! I have been seeing him for a while now. He really goes above and beyond for his patients. He always makes sure to spend time figuring out your unique situation, as well as ensure you that stay not only mentally healthy but also physically healthy. He will always greet you with a smile on his face and he is always cheerful and positive. I enjoy seeing him every month, and he makes you feel as if you are not only a patient but a friend. I highly recommend him!

Dr. Akpengbe is a rare person who can be thorough while still being quick. This visit he went through asking how I was doing, reviewing where we left off, and following up with a persistent issue before I even thought to mention it. His friendly demeanor and readiness to keep me well equipped with my familiar meds is very refreshing. I know that every appointment I can get whatever update I need. Although I set a reminder in my phone, he's always good about sending me reminders. This time, fortunately, I was on time so I didn't need him to call and remind me.

I cannot move forward with a psychiatrist who is as unreliable and non-communicative as Dr Akpengbe. From the beginning, he was rude and abrasive with me about contacting him. He yelled at me to text him, not call him. But he doesn’t respond to my texts in any kind of timely manner, if at all. He mis-scheduled a number of appointments with me. He is unorganized, non-communicative and has extremely poor bedside manner that comes off completely unprofessional. As a patient, I’ve never had a doctor who cared less for my well-being than this man.
