Dr. Tony Kerbaj was born and raised in Jersey City. He completed his residency in Podiatric Surgery at Hoboken University Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident. He is also on staff at Bayonne University Hospital, Hoboken University Hospital, SUH and several surgical centers. Dr. Kerbaj also lectures and trains surgical podiatric residents locally, staying up to date with cutting edge surgical and nonsurgical techniques. Dr. Kerbaj specializes in advanced foot and ankle surgical techniques. He is trained in the treatment of sports injuries including ankle arthroscopy, ankle ligament repair and reconstruction, fracture repair, tendon injury and cartilage restoration surgery. He also specializes in reconstructive surgery including Charcot recon, flat and cavus foot reconstruction, ankle and midfoot fusions as well as lower extremity trauma management for both adults and children. Dr. Kerbaj is also trained in MIS forefoot and hindfoot surgery. He is Board Qualified in both Forefoot and rearfoot Reconstructive surgery by ACFAS. Dr. Kerbaj received his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and earned his Bachelors in Biology, with minors in Chemistry and Psychology, from Rutgers University. In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Kerbaj has a strong background in research and academic medicine, with publications and lectures involving Charcot neuroarthropathy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, arthroscopic surgery and other complex conditions. Dr. Kerbaj takes a patient-centered approach to treatment and believes that patients should feel informed and comfortable with their care. He takes the time to understand each patient’s concerns, explain their diagnosis and treatment options, and develop an individualized plan whether conservative or surgical. A lifelong New Jersey resident, Dr. Kerbaj is fluent in English and Arabic. Outside of medicine, he enjoys drawing, painting, photography, and is a Popcorn-fueled film connoisseur.
