About Dr. Tony Tsai
Dr. Tsai is the medical director and founder of NYFC. He completed his undergraduate training at Columbia University and earned his Doctor of Medicine from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University and his fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology at the University of California, San Francisco, Stanford Medical Center. Dr. Tsai is the author of numerous research papers in gynecologic and reproductive endocrinology. Special interests include infertility, laparoscopic and laser surgery, and difficult cases.
Dr. Tsai is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Weill Medical College of Cornell University. He serves as Chairman of ACOG District 2 Section 3 and holds leadership roles including president-elect of the Queens OB/GYN Society, and past vice chairman, secretary, and treasurer of the same society. He is Director of The Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at New York Hospital Queens, providing state-of-the-art medical and surgical treatments in assisted reproductive technologies and expert care in reproductive endocrinology and gynecology.
He specializes in surgical management of pelvic pain, endometriosis, fibroids, uterine septum, and Asherman syndrome. Dr. Tsai performs over 100 laparoscopic myomectomies and hysterectomies annually, calling these ?Band-aid hysterectomy? and ?Band-aid myomectomy.? He was the first in Queens to popularize laparoscopic supracervical hysterectomy (LSH), preserving the cervix when removing the uterus, as it may play a role in female sexual satisfaction.
Dr. Tsai also pioneered a staged laparoscopic/hysteroscopic myomectomy approach. For fibroids too large to remove safely in one surgery, a staged procedure removes the remainder of the myoma. This technique is also applied to uterine septums and adhesions.

He was great very straight forward I enjoyed speaking to him. I understand some people’s concerns with him making weird comments but I think it is just the doctor in him. I don’t think he is being rude I think he is just to the point. I really valued the time I spent speaking to him.

Dr. Tsai and medical staff went above and beyond to make this experience easy and the Ultrasound tech explained everything in depth. Dr. Tsai has great bedside manor and made me feel at ease with his humor and thoroughly explained all information. I am excited to start my fertility experiences with this office and I am confident Dr, Tsai and staff will take good care of my medical needs!

I never write reviews because few in the medical profession go "above and beyond" but truly, this man is the exception. He loves his career, his patients, and goes out of his way to make one and all feel respected, comfortable, and hopeful.
Whatever fertility issues you may have, run, don't walk to Dr. Tsai because if your condition has any glimmer of hope, he will find it and turn it into a ray, a path, and a road to achieving your dreams.

Dr.Tsai is a great doctor! Very knowledgable. Answers all your questions and concerns. His whole treatment plan is very thorough. So you wont be disappointed. He is absolutely an outstanding fertility specialist.
At first, I was a little hesitant to go to a male doctor but after talking to him, he made me feel very comfortable. Those of you who are a bit shy about male doctors, just to let you know the there are female sonographer and female nurses who will be conducting your daily check ups after your initial consult with Dr. Tsai.
The last fertility specialist I saw in Manhattan was a female doc and she was good but not as thorough and have actually missed some steps in my fertility journey. So I am fully satisfied with Dr. Tsai!
Fyi... wait time at the office can vary from 40 minutes to a little more than an hour for initial consult and also there after the wait time varies depending on treatment plan. He has a lot of patients and procedures scheduled at both his offices in flushing and manhattan. But one thing for sure, the wait is worth it. I promise you.
Another thing about him is he does have a bit of a sense of humor which could offend someone but I think its mostly indicated to the husbands and boyfriends which he prefers to counsel together if you guys are trying to conceive.
Dr.Tsai’s sense of humor is harmless though, he genuinely means well for his patients and their wellbeing.

I would not recommend Dr. Tsai. Tsai was the second doctor whose medical opinion I sought for irregular periods, weight gain, and acute monthly pelvic pain. First point of annoyance was the fact that he was over an hour late for EACH of my appointments. If you know it takes you over an hour to commute from your other office—don’t schedule 4PM appointments. He also has a horrible habit of starting appointments and discussing your health issues without ensuring the door is closed! Ultimately, the reason why I stoped seeing Tsai is because of his flippant attitude towards my pelvic pain. I was taking a lot of ibuprofen per day to combat the pain. The pain caused me to lose work days and often made walking difficult. His response to me was that at least I was not taking codeine. I will never, ever forget what he said. If you are a woman or a woman of color especially, find a doctor that respects you and your pain. 0/10 would

I'm not one to leave bad reviews and complain much but the energy I felt leaving this office was not positive.
My appt was at 1:45 and I was not seen until past 3pm.
The nurses and front desk were hospitable and apologetic for the delay, and assisted me in the duration of waiting, but even the sonogram I did in the interim was almost like time-traveling back to the 90s.
The equipment was outdated compared to the reputable OBGYNs I've had. The room didn't seem tidy or clean.
However I kept hope up while looking at the "Best endocrinologist of 2019" award hanging in the office that the wait was worth it...
When I finally sat down with Dr. Tsai, he was initially nice and apologetic. However after discussing my concerns, there were moments of judgey energy from him which maybe I would expect less from a female doctor. I was here because I care about my body - I didn't need judgey, intrusive questions about my relationships and personal life.
Sounds like the other reviews that mentioned this about him were true.
Fertility is such a sensitive topic to women - we'd hope for more empathetic doctors.
All of a sudden he started rushing into ideas of invasive surgery that made me feel overwhelmed and scared - he didn't seem to ease the conversation to that possible solution.
In the end, I just wanted to be out of the office. He wanted to make proactive efforts to schedule the next appt and be there promptly, but I just got another call saying he has "an emergency" and can't make my appt.
I'm sure there are other doctors out there that will provide a better experience.

Dr Tsai made us feel extremely comfortable and has excellent bedside manners. He embraced all questions with an open mind and encouraged us to ask more unlike other doctors where you feel rushed. I highly recommend him. Just my first visit with him but again my husband and I felt quite comfortable with his service.

Very informative and he's very warm. I've only seen two other reproductive specialists and they were very clinical and cold. I felt comfortable talking to Dr. Tsai and he didn't rush me either. He seems to know a lot about Endometriosis too which is not that common among doctors I've encountered in the past.

Dr. Tsai was one of the best doctors I have ever been to. He is a combination of incredibly intelligent and disarming, which made me feel seen, heard, and understood from my first appointment through surgery and follow-up. I appreciated his knowledge, expertise, and surgical ability, and would highly recommend him. He truly loves what he does, and it shows in every interaction and in how he diligently he performs every aspect of each consultation and surgery,and his never-ending patience in answering all of my questions before and after. Overall I was pleased with my visit. Dr. Tsai was very personable and took the time to discuss my concerns and answer my questions. I was given a prescription with another patients name on it for a follow up procedure, when I brought it to the attention of the office they offered to correct and fax it directly to my follow-up appointment.

I waited nearly 3 hours... my appointment was at 11:00 am I was seen around 1:40 pm. I I was not taken seriously by the doctor. He made very rude and unprofessional comments about my personal and religious lifestyle choice. Then made a comment If I wanted to sacrifice having children over a career. I would be alone and should focus more of my time on having children. The staff was disorganized. The doctor was juggling more patients than he could handle. I was quickly berated by the doc for my possible life action plan and what I wanted to do in terms of fertility. But I was then quickly rushed and hurried out of the office because he had another patient. After he noticed I was visibly upset then said ok. We will run a blood test almost to sort of appease me. But that is what the office is supposed to do. I never received a call k from the office in regards to results it been over 2months now. Plus while taking my blood another physician was highly upset on the disorganized staff and how a sample was lost for one of his patient for embryo harvest and specimen implantation. I will not be getting anything done from them and will get my results and look for another doctor.

I was told by my GYN and Physician to get checked for PCOS by doing an ultrasound and getting bloodwork done. I called this office ahead of time and they said they could do both. I only got the ultrasound done (which he didn't even walk me through, he just pointed out ovarian follicles and moved on) and he didn't take out blood because he's relying on what I had drawn 8 months ago.
When it came to treatment, he was being really pushy about the procedure only him and another doctor in the city do. He took a call in the middle of us talking and kept showing me pictures his patients had texted him of their kids and bodies after losing weight (which I feel they send to him for progress, not to show patients, but I could be wrong).
He kept asking to bring my boyfriend in the room even though I told him the appointment was for me and to figure out what's going on and he didn't need to be there. He made a snarky comment about how we're not serious since I wasn't wearing a ring and kept pushing for that drilling procedure. Even when I was ready to go and waiting to be given some last paperwork, he asked if it was ok to talk to my boyfriend, and by then I just told him to go for it because no matter how private I wanted to keep it, he was still looking to talk to talk to him about something I could have just told him at home.
I didn't enjoy my experience there at all, and he would make a lot of quick remarks under his breath that he probably didn't think I caught. It was a big waste of time, he was uncomfortable and snarky which is a shame because his staff is very courteous and polite.
