About Tonya Hawkes

s a mother of 5 I have run the gamut of birth experiences. From a c/s to VBACS and high risk pregnancies. It definitely gave me a heart for the pregnant and laboring woman. I strive to provide individualized, patient centered care because every woman and every pregnancy brings different challenges. Specialties: Physiologic birth; breastfeeding and labor support Tonya Hawkes, CNM, says working in women’s health is a calling. She believes that patients and the healthcare team must work together to achieve a patient’s health goals. She was drawn to Diana Health because of the model of compassionate, comprehensive, individualized healthcare that gives women seamless access to the resources they need to take ownership of their whole health. She received her nursing degree from Tallahassee Community College and earned her Bachelor’s in their inaugural class. She received her Master’s in Nursing Midwifery from Frontier University. Tonya has worked in women’s health for over 10 years, spending the last two with HCA Women’s Healthcare. Tonya adopted Tallahassee as her hometown after she received a Bachelor’s in English from FSU in 2002. She moved back in 2011 when her husband left active duty. In her spare time, she can be found cheering on her five children in their varied sporting adventures.
