What should a new client know about working with you?

Patients working with me can expect a compassionate, supportive, and judgment-free environment where they feel heard and respected. I believe mental health care should be collaborative, personalized, and focused on the whole person — not just symptoms alone. I take time to understand each patient’s concerns, lifestyle, stressors, goals, and overall wellness so we can create a treatment plan that feels realistic and effective. My approach combines evidence-based psychiatric care with a holistic perspective, recognizing the strong connection between mental, emotional, and physical health. I strive to provide thoughtful medication management, education, and practical coping strategies while building a strong therapeutic relationship rooted in trust and open communication. Whether someone is seeking support for anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood changes, stress, sleep concerns, or emotional wellness, my goal is to help them feel empowered, supported, and actively involved in their care journey. Patients can also expect professionalism, empathy, and a provider who genuinely values their progress and long-term well-being.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

During the initial appointment, patients can expect a comprehensive and thoughtful evaluation focused on understanding their mental health concerns, personal history, lifestyle factors, stressors, medical background, and treatment goals. I believe that effective mental health care begins with truly listening and developing a clear understanding of the whole person — not simply treating symptoms in isolation. The first session typically includes a discussion of current symptoms, emotional concerns, sleep patterns, stress levels, focus and concentration, mood changes, medical history, past treatment experiences, medications, family history, and lifestyle habits that may impact mental and physical well-being. We also explore factors such as work-life balance, relationships, coping patterns, nutrition, movement, and daily routines, as these often play an important role in emotional health. My approach to care is holistic, collaborative, and evidence-based. This means treatment recommendations are individualized and may include a combination of medication management, psychotherapy interventions, behavioral strategies, lifestyle modifications, and complementary wellness approaches when appropriate. I believe patients should feel actively involved in treatment decisions and fully informed about their options throughout the process. Medication is not approached as a “one-size-fits-all” solution. If medication is recommended, we discuss the potential benefits, possible side effects, treatment expectations, and alternative options to ensure patients feel comfortable and supported in their decisions. The goal is to create a balanced and sustainable treatment plan that improves overall quality of life and functioning. In addition to medication management, I incorporate supportive psychotherapy and evidence-based therapeutic techniques into sessions.
