My mother's successful Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass (RYGB), resulting in remission of Type 2 diabetes, has motivated and guided me in my work as a dietitian. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Dietetics from California State University, Sacramento, and completed my Dietetic Internship at the University of Northern Colorado. During my 24-year career with a large HMO, I specialized in diabetes, weight management, heart disease, and other chronic conditions. Recently, I spent 8 years working with a multidisciplinary team in the Department of Bariatrics, providing pre- and post-op metabolic and bariatric surgery nutrition care. This program performed between 400-600 surgeries per year, and I became passionate about helping post-op patients with common concerns such as weight regain and reactive hypoglycemia. I obtained certification as a diabetes care and education specialist (CDCES) in 2007, enabling me to offer personalized care and support to those with diabetes. Additionally, I became a board-certified specialist in obesity and weight management (CSOWM), enhancing my ability to guide individuals toward healthier and sustainable lifestyles. I live in Eagle, Idaho, with my husband Phil and our playful golden-doodle, Kip. This provider is not licensed as a Nutritionist in the state of WA. This provider is not licensed in the state of CT.
