Travis Senor, PA

Physician Assistant (Psychiatry)
4904 Professional Ct, Raleigh, NC
My name is Travis Senor, PA-C, and I’m a Physician Assistant at Advaita Integrated Medicine. My path into medicine was a little unconventional. Before earning my Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from UNC Chapel Hill in 2023, I worked in national security in Washington, D.C., and later with the U.S. Antarctic Program. Along the way, I became increasingly interested in how much our mental health influences the way we experience life, navigate challenges, and find meaning in our everyday lives. Before moving into psychiatry, I gained clinical experience in family medicine and volunteered in wilderness search and rescue. Those experiences, along with the people I've met throughout my career, have shaped how I approach patient care. I've learned that understanding someone's circumstances, experiences, and priorities is essential to helping them make meaningful changes. I particularly enjoy working with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, and challenges related to work-life balance. I'm especially interested in helping people who struggle with setting boundaries, managing expectations, or finding time and energy for the things that matter most to them. My approach is collaborative and grounded in patient autonomy, dignity, and mutual respect. I want to understand who you are beyond your symptoms and help you develop a treatment plan that reflects your needs, values, and goals. Outside of medicine, I enjoy playing ice hockey, rock climbing, hiking, traveling, volunteering in animal rescue, following Carolina basketball, and reading. I also love spending time with my wife and our two cats, and exploring everything North Carolina has to offer.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I want you to feel comfortable being yourself when we meet. I believe a good patient-provider relationship starts with trust, respect, and the freedom to talk openly about what's going on without worrying about being judged. I'm interested in your symptoms, but I'm equally interested in who you are as a person. What do you enjoy? What causes you stress? What expectations are you trying to meet, and which of those expectations are your own? I particularly enjoy working with people who feel pulled in different directions by work, relationships, responsibilities, or the expectations of others. Sometimes that means addressing anxiety, depression, or ADHD. Other times, it involves exploring boundaries, priorities, and what you want your day-to-day life to look like. I see our work as a partnership. I'll bring my medical training and clinical experience, but your perspective matters just as much when we're deciding how to approach your care.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first appointment is an opportunity for me to get to know you and understand what brought you in. We'll discuss your current concerns, mental health history, previous treatment experiences, and how your symptoms are affecting your daily life. I also like to spend time learning about your interests, relationships, responsibilities, and goals. I believe these details often tell us just as much about what someone needs as their symptoms do. From there, we'll work together to develop a treatment plan that makes sense for you. My primary role is psychiatric evaluation and medication management, but I also incorporate supportive therapeutic conversations into our appointments. When additional therapy would be beneficial, we can discuss connecting you with a therapist at Advaita Integrated Medicine so your care can be coordinated. I recognize that getting to know someone takes time. Follow-up appointments give us the opportunity to build that relationship, evaluate how treatment is working, and make adjustments as needed. Throughout the process, I want you to feel informed, involved, and comfortable asking questions about your care.
