What should a new client know about working with you?

As a physician, I understand the importance of taking sufficient time to review the full medical history, understand the patient's social and neurobiological development, and identifying treatment goals early, working in partnership towards growth and healing.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

From the first phone call, patients talk with me - I have no staff, no layers for patients to wade through and no administrators limiting the time that I can spend with patients. Scales are sent for completion before the first appointment to capture depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, substance use, and other metrics. The intake appointment usually takes at least an hour, to capture the full medical, developmental, psychiatric, and social history. Education regarding non-pharmacologic methods of treating insomnia is always part of the initial treatment plan, in addition to a collaborative discussion regarding medication management and psychotherapy (supportive and cognitive behavioral). When a patient has a trauma history that may benefit from trauma-focused therapy (including EMDR), I refer to community partners. If dementia is part of the profile, I perform initial cognitive assessments and partner with community neuropsychologists for more in-depth testing, when necessary.

It’s common for mental health providers to be out-of-network. Many insurance plans offer out-of-network coverage, so you may get partially reimbursed. Learn more

Out-of-pocket fees and assistance
Initial session: $350 for 60 minutes
Ongoing session: $175-250 for 60 minutes
  • Files your insurance claim: You pay the session fee upfront and the provider files the claim for you, so you can get reimbursed directly without worrying about the paperwork
  • Charges post-reimbursement amount: This provider will only charge you for the amount you pay after you get reimbursed from your insurance plan, so you don’t need to pay the session fee upfront
