“Dr Mayroga exceeded my expectations! I made an appointment for the same day. He was kind, pleasant, super knowledgable, and I felt secure about seeing him for my issue right away. He offered a range of treatment options after examining me, and ended up doing a minor procedure right on the spot that relieved me of my pain! About Dr. Tyrone Mayorga
Tyrone A. Mayorga, D.P.M., is a board certified foot and ankle surgeon at One Oak Medical. He received his doctoral degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine followed by an intensive three-year surgical residency in foot and ankle reconstruction at the Hackensack University Hospital system at Palisades Medical Center. Dr. Mayorga specializes in sports and exercise related foot and ankle injuries. He emphasizes minimally invasive approaches in his treatment of deformities such as ankle arthritis, flatfeet, cavus or high arched feet, bunions, and hammertoes. Dr. Mayorga also has extensive surgical training in arthroscopic and endoscopic techniques for the treatment of foot and ankle conditions.
Dr. Mayorga immigrated from his native Nicaragua to New York. Dr. Mayorga received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston College, and taught middle school science and worked in research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center prior to beginning his medical career. During his residency training at Hackensack University Hospital, Dr. Mayorga developed an interest in minimally invasive techniques and a total health approach to care.
Dr. Mayorga is currently a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS) and the American Board of Podiatric Surgeons (ABPS). He is an active member of the research community with numerous publications in dermatological text books for the treatment of nail and skin disorders of the lower extremities. He also has multiple ongoing research projects in innovative surgical techniques for the treatment of all foot and ankle conditions, and he presents regularly at national conferences.
Dr. Mayorga's goal is to provide the highest quality of care to all his patients. He believes that establishing a trusting relationship between surgeon and patient is paramount to a successful outcome. He achieves this by providing a comprehensive treatment plan for each individual that includes maximizing non-operative treatment, and strives to offer clear communication and ongoing education to his patients throughout the care process.
