Getting to know Uchenna Ekeabu

As the cornerstone of my practice, each patient is regarded as a vital partner in their treatment journey. I invest ample time to comprehend their individual circumstances, listen attentively to their concerns, and collaborate closely to develop tailored treatment plans. This collaborative approach not only strengthens the therapeutic alliance but also enhances treatment outcomes. Acknowledging the collaborative nature of healthcare, I actively engage with fellow professionals-psychiatrists, nurses, mental health technicians, and therapists-recognizing the value of interdisciplinary teamwork in providing comprehensive care. By combining our expertise and experiences, we optimize patient outcomes and ensure a seamless care continuum. My educational background includes a Master's in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from Walden University, a Master's in Business Administration from Pan-Atlantic University, and Bachelor's degrees from Drexel University and the Federal University of Technology. These experiences have instilled in me essential traits of leadership, professionalism, and effective communication. Understanding the significance of these attributes, I strive to exemplify them in all aspects of my practice, enhancing care quality and fostering trust and respect among colleagues and patients alike. A key part of my PMHNP work is using empirical evidence to educate patients, their families, and the community about mental illness and its effective management. I am also open to part-time teaching roles at universities to share my experience and knowledge with students, preparing the next generation of psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioners. I am deeply aware of the intrinsic link between healthcare delivery and business management. By drawing upon my comprehensive skill set and incorporating principles of cost management and value creation, I am committed to contributing to the growth and success of any organization I join.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I provide compassionate care and evidence-based psychotherapy and mental health treatment. The patient is the most important person in the treatment plan and should be able to collaborate and participate in his/her care. Holistic Approach: I consider both the psychological and physiological aspects of mental health. I’ll look at how biological, psychological, and social factors are impacting your well-being. Collaborative Care: We’ll work together to develop a treatment plan that suits your needs. This might include psychotherapy, medication management, lifestyle changes, and coordination with other healthcare providers. Medication Management: I’m trained to prescribe and manage psychiatric medications. I’ll monitor how you’re responding to any medications, adjust dosages as needed, and address any side effects. Therapeutic Relationship: Building a trusting and empathetic relationship with you is important to me. I’m here to listen, support you, and work with you on strategies to manage your mental health. Evidence-Based Practice: I use treatment methods that are grounded in current research and best practices. This means I’ll apply therapies and interventions that are proven to be effective. Confidentiality and Respect: Your privacy is a top priority. I adhere to strict confidentiality standards to ensure your personal information is protected and used solely for your treatment.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A typical session starts with an interview which is aimed at forming a therapeutic alliance with clients and understanding the reasons for their appointments. My belief is that therapy is very important as I focus on giving you a safe space to express your thoughts, feelings, and concerns. I do the above with compassion, empathy and professionalism. I believe in patient-centered care. Psychotherapy also helps you develop your ability to solve problems. With your collaboration and participation, I offer practical and supportive ways to manage stress and other difficult parts of your everyday life. In addition, I also offer medication management for the benefit of clients. Medication management involves performing patient assessment, formulating a medication treatment plan, monitoring efficacy and safety, education, and enhancing adherence.

I made 2 appointments. The first one they never sent me a link so I called the office and it was a busy signal . So I gave him the benefit of the doubt. They was an 8pm appointment available so I booked. The same thing happened.

Verified patientVideo visit
He is well versed in many things and I believe he is a great person to talk to regarding motivation and tools to make things better in your life
Verified patientVideo visit
The doctor neglected to keep the appointment I initially signed up for and tried connecting however nobody was there. I called the office several times prior to the apt however the call was unanswered and I left several VM for them so they would know who I was. I was clear on my conditions and have been on the same medications for years. He was well aware of the medication and conditions and what the reason for my apt was , Yet after I get a phone call apologizing that he wasn't at the appointment because of a family emergency,I let it go and didn't think it was a big deal. He asked me pointless questions about my condition and previous provider then after the whole song and dance and silence over the phone , he prescribed nothing

Unfortunately I never received a link, nor heard from him prior to the appointment despite completing all forms and scheduling days in advance. Attempts to call the office result in a beep tone and disconnection. Would not recommend for reliability reasons.
