Getting to know Dr. Uchenna Stephanie Ukoha

Wholesome Clinic – Integrative Psychiatry & Wellness is a psychiatry-anchored medical practice providing comprehensive mental health care, medication management, and REMS-certified Spravato treatment for treatment-resistant depression. We are accepting new patients in Texas, Colorado, New Mexico, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Oregon. Welcome to Wholesome Clinic, where healing begins and hope thrives. I am a Doctor of Nursing Practice, having earned my DNP and Post-Master's Certificate in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from Briar Cliff University, and my Master's in Family Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington. I am dual board certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner. Whether you're seeking to alleviate distressing symptoms such as anxiety, depression, panic attacks, or intrusive thoughts; navigating relationship dynamics; or healing from past traumas, I provide a safe and supportive space where you can express yourself without judgment. Together, we explore effective strategies and interventions to manage these symptoms and improve your overall quality of life. In addition to mental health services, we offer virtual urgent care, virtual primary care, and medical weight loss solutions, including Semaglutide (Wegovy) and Tirzepatide (Mounjaro, Zepbound). Our mission is to support your physical and mental health and bridge the gap between the two. With empathy and respect, I am here to guide you toward a life of emotional resilience and genuine well-being. I look forward to serving you! At this time, we do not prescribe stimulants for ADHD. We manage ADHD with non-stimulants. Also, we do not prescribe Benzodiazepines (Xanax, klonopin, etc.) or controlled sleep medications such as Ambien. We offer Phentermine for weight loss (when appropriate) for Texas patients only.

Personalized Treatment Plans We recognize that each person's journey is unique. Our treatment plans are tailored to meet your specific needs and goals, ensuring that you receive the most effective care. 6. Focus on Education and Empowerment We aim to empower our patients with the knowledge and tools they need to manage their mental health. We provide education on coping strategies, self-care practices, and lifestyle changes that can support your overall well-being. 7. Accessibility and Flexibility We understand that life can be busy, so we offer flexible scheduling options, including evening and weekend appointments. We also provide telehealth services to ensure that you can access care from the comfort of your home. 8. Dr. U is pleasant, but I was very disappointed by the lack of communication. I take a benzo for anxiety but apparently D. U. doesn't prescribe controlled substances. I completely understand, but she was aware that I am on this medication but didn't inform me that she would not renew my prescription until I was almost out. I wasted almost 2 months with her when she won't refill my prescriptions. I don't have a problem with her policy, but she was aware of my medications and should have immediately communicated to me that she would not refill them.

I believe that this teledoc is great in the region that she is localized to (I am in Colorado and she is in Texas). Therefore, if you are looking for med refills for controlled substances (even something like Lyrica, benzodiazepines, or stimulants, and other sleeping meds), she may not be able to help. Her DEA license does not extend past writing controlled substances in the state of Texas. That was my main gripe with my appointment, had I known upfront I would have tried other approaches to ask for that may work or been more cooperative.

Great doctor, loved my virtual visit!

I was able to get an appointment within hours and she still had time to read my questionnaires before we met. She listened and let medication be a discussion.
