Dr. Ujwal Patel, MD

Family Physician

My journey into medicine began with a deep-seated belief that healthcare should be built on trust, time, and genuine relationships—a belief that only grew stronger through my training. I earned my medical degree from the University of Medicine and Health Sciences and completed my residency at MercyOne in Des Moines, Iowa. There, I trained in comprehensive primary care, caring for patients of all ages, managing complex chronic conditions, and honing a patient-centered approach that places listening first. After residency, I began practicing in an Urgent Care setting in the Metro-Atlanta area. While I cherished caring for my patients, I grew increasingly frustrated by the constraints of the insurance-driven system—the rushed visits, lack of primary care for each of my patients, and the feeling that I couldn’t give each person the time and attention they deserved. That’s when I discovered Direct Primary Care. DPC was the answer I had been searching for: a model that allows me to practice medicine the way I always envisioned—thoughtfully, personally, and in true partnership with my patients. Here, I’m able to reconnect with the heart of medicine: building lasting relationships, knowing your story, and providing care that’s tailored to your life, not a billing code. A little more about me beyond the clinic, “I live in Brookhaven with my family, sports fanatic, enjoy spending time with my family and friends. It’s this same commitment to connection and community that I bring to my practice every day. At the end of the day, my mission is simple: to offer you a different kind of healthcare—one where you are heard, supported, and empowered to live your healthiest life. I’m honored to be your partner in that journey.
