Dr. Ulanda Marcus-Aiyeku, DNP

Family Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
NY
As individuals, we are deeply influenced by what our eyes have seen, our ears have heard, and what our hearts have felt. I am a doctoral-trained Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 25 years of healthcare experience. I earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, a Post-Master's Certificate in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from Monmouth University, a Master's in Nursing from Kean University, and a Bachelor's from St. Francis College. At Remi's Room, you will work with a provider who understands stress, coping, and the beauty of transformation. I help patients navigating anxiety, stress, and depression unique to the tumultuous stages of early adulthood and midlife. This includes parents of children with special needs; patients in their 20s who may struggle to cope with leaving home or college, shifting relationships, and establishing their own identity; as well as those in their 50s and 60s experiencing empty nesting, loss of past roles, loneliness, and financial stress.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I utilize a patient-centered focus that begins with a detailed history as we continue to explore your "why". A collaborative approach of medication management, supportive therapy and integrative health modalities are used in design of a unique treatment plan.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Through treatment, all clients get the medication they need to bridge the tough times, while you build coping skills in talk therapy. Through shared decision making we will know when it is time to let you fly, weaning you off or transitioning you to a low maintenance dose of medication. Then, I'll cheer you off from afar, but available if you need to revisit care.
