What should a new client know about working with you?

Uzoma is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with over 12 years of experience working in various psychiatric settings across adolescent, adult, and geriatric age group. My extensive work experience in areas such as substance abuse, Psychiatric emergency unit, trauma, adolescent unit, has prepared me to provide compassionate, respectful, and individualized psychiatric health evaluations for patients with major depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, OCD, PTSD, ADHD, Autism, Tourette's, and other mental health disorders. I take time to understand your concerns, personal history, strengths, and goals. Together, we'll discuss your symptoms and treatment options, including medication management when appropriate, and create a plan that fits your needs. You can expect a supportive, judgment-free space where your questions and preferences matter. Everyone's needs and progress are different. We'll check in regularly and adjust your treatment plan as needed.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Your first visit is a chance to talk about what brings you in, your symptoms, health history, and goals for care. I'll listen, answer your questions, and work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan. Depending on your needs, care may include medication management, supportive guidance, and referrals or coordination with other providers. Follow-up visits give us time to review your progress, discuss any concerns or medication effects, and adjust your plan together. My goal is to provide respectful, compassionate care in a comfortable, judgement-free setting.
