No therapy at first visit only a interview And I paid my copay. Waisted time and money
It was really amazing ,my doctor was very polite and extremely easy to talk to
Very professional! Beautiful place. A great start to a new me
Denise is amazing, she made my first visit to a therapist ever a great experience and I'm happy to have found the location
Dr.Brian was great but the receptionists were very rude and unprofessional.
It was an intake but I felt good afterward. Looking forward to my next visit. Hoping all goes well.
Did not have doctor on site to write prescriptions
My visit was extremely refreshing ... I felt very comfortable with the therapist and the aura was very relaxing as well. I felt like they really listened to my thoughts and feelings ... they said the right things that made me feel very hopeful for greater things.
She doesn't work there any more. Rodrigo is great if you prefer a male physiology.
I had to wait for 45 minutes beyond my appointment time to see someone. The person I saw wasn't a therapist, just someone that asked preliminary questions (all of which I actually answered in the forms I showed up early to complete). He seemed wholly disinterested in me and simply checked the boxes he needed to. At the end he asked if I wanted to see a young woman or an old lady, and then took me downstairs to make the appointment to see a therapist later in the week. I told them it was a horrible experience and that I didn't really want to come back.
Front Desk Experience wasn't the best - a little more professionalism and pleasantry preferred, but my encounter with the Therapist - Denise was wonderful. She was professional, yet compassionate. Made me feel quite at ease, and comfortable talking with her. I had reservations about seeking out this kind of help initially, but before I knew it I was pouring out my soul to her and.
This doctor dismissed me with in less than 15 minutes and told me to go home and 'self reflect' if I wanted to self reflect I most likely would not have sought out help in a mental health clinic. THIS WAS THE ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! DO NOT COME HERE! PRACTICE SHOULD BE CLOSED DOWN!
There was a little confusing in the beginning and then the gentalmen in front desk assisted me and after that it was great !!!
I'm not sure why this place had such bad reviews. The people at the reception were not rude to me and were helpful and calm. The person that did my intake was very nice and friendly. The psychologist I got assigned to was also easy to talk to. They take my insurance and have appointments on the weekend and night, which is perfect for me.
for the first appointment, you do not see a therapist. instead, you see someone who reads off very personal survey questions for you to answer. the methodology is terrible and the situation is very uncomfortable. who wants to come somewhere for the first time and get 0 personalized attention while being expected to reveal their inner most thoughts BEFORE even speaking to a therapist. TERRIBLE experience. i would never recommend or go back!
This place is a joke, It's more of a business than a place to get help. Rude staff at the desk, along with how they answer the phone and what therapist says to call or text them because they can't rely on staff to inform them of patients waiting to be seen. Should you not let the therapist know your there to be seen. You just lost a copay and would have to reschedule.
Love it! :)
The therapist I had was great but she is no longer at the facility
very efficient and pleasing. i was late for appointment and they worked around me.
The visit was ok but they never got back to me with a plan for treatment so I'm going to another doctor!
Filled out my paperwork and was given a list of what to expect 1st visit. Had an intake which went quite well I felt at ease and comfortable. They will be matching me with a psychologist for my 1st session next week! Very excited to start there!
The Receptionist are very unprofessional. They were using profanity . Very bad image for the doctor office
There were roaches.
Very private and professional staff
Waste of time
Good facility, insane wait time. That's what happens when you're located in Astoria I guess.
Today is a snow storm day which means not most people went to work. A counselor checked up with me; afterwards I was told that I would have to wait at least 4 months for an appointment with Delidimitropulu. He then suggested a new doctor within their staff that I might try.
I love the set up and the therapist was very attentive.. Yes I would recommend others ...I just can't wait to see what's in stored for me when I go for my bio feedback...
The first time was pretty professional, but I decided to review after a few times in case the office behavior changes between a new patient and a patient with whom they have a relationship. I'm happy to share my dissatisfaction if by doing so I help someone else avoid the same situation. Again, the first time was pretty smooth. We did not wait long. The situation deteriorated with the second visit. We have waited over an hour for the psychiatrist there. Our insurance wanted to talk with the psychiatrist and he would not call them back, he only wanted his assistant to place the call. The psychiatrist stated that he was unable to find the number for the insurance company because it was not in the file. After I showed it to him on the coversheet, he then said that there could be another direct number that he would have to access, so he did not want to dial the number. After about 10 minutes he tried. I was baffled I had to negotiate so much for that. Another issue is that in the waiting room, the entire staff has no issue with using all the patients' names. For example, "Christie, you are after John, and John, you are after Jane." I would have liked a little more anonymity in a psychologist's office. When I mentioned my discomfort, the psychiatrist suggested that I change practices. I did.
It was fair.
I was very comfortable , the staff is very nice and understanding
I felt very comfortable.
It went very well. Other reviews have mentioned that you meet with whoever they assign you with for the first meeting. I met with Anna, who was wonderful. The only thing is that our schedules don't mesh, so I won't be able to meet with her again next time. But I highly recommend her and this place.
First visit it's an intake. Looking forward to my first therapy. Let's see how that goes . No waiting time if you show up on time.
I genuinely can't believe how terrible my experience at this practice was. Other people have submitted postive reviews, and perhaps they were having an off night, but my visit was so wildly inappropriate it belongs in a sitcom. I was told I would have to have an intake and therefore would not see the doctor with whom I had an appointment. I understand that that's standard practice, but I think I should've been told ahead of time. I was then told a man would be performing my intake. When I said I was uncomfortable with that, I was brought to a woman. She was very nice but seemed a bit frazzled. She said she had another patient there who was desperate to see her and I told her I was fine with waiting. She then let me interact with the patient for about 10 minutes, despite the fact that I was clearly uncomfortable with it. Once we did meet, she asked the same questions repeatedly during the intake, did not listen to my elaborations, and had her phone next to her on the couch the entire time. When we got to the purpose of my visit (my being diagnosed with a non-life-threatening but incurable disease), she was completely ignorant. It is widely known that there is no known cure, but she suggested that maybe I could find a cure in Cuba. Though she was a nice woman, she was uninformed and her behavior was bizarre. I will not be going back.
It was pretty nice. There are lots of therapists and your first visit is a consultation/intake appointment. After asking you a bunch of questions, they set up your second appointment with a specific therapist. So far, so good, but the real test is in the next few weeks as I have my first few therapy sessions.
Wxcellent facility and people - great great great thank you
I loved it. Can't wait to go back
Rude receptionist and therapist/counselor made me feel extremely uncomfortable in my first session. I never returned for another appointment, nor did this place follow up with me. I've been going to therapy at the Blanton-Peale Institute in midtown for the past 8 months and they've been wonderful and frequently follow up with me. The space is clean and the therapists are great.
It was good, for an intake appt. i am looking forward to what the next session will bring.
The visit was fine. Did not have any problems. My name is a little tricky to remember, so that was the only problem. But overall, it was a great first experience.
Love it! Very cozy and everyone was really nice. This is my third therapist that I've been to and so far BEST ONE BY FAR!!! Will recommend to everyone!!
I have had a couple appointments with the institution, and they are wonderful!
the appointment times that are listed on zoc doc are never available! my appointment is always being rescheduled by the office.
I promise you . You will regret making an app at this place!! Don't waste your time like I did.
I don't know yet, it was my first appointment
Dr. Lynn is an amazing listener and extremely attentive. I highly recommend her!
For the first visit you only get interviewed for an intake and they decide which doctor would be best for your case.
I thought she was very polite and made me comfortable and I look forward to the next session.
This office is questionable as they cancel and re-schedule appointments even if they have been confirmed. Don't know why Zoc doc sponsors this office.
I wish I had been more aware of what to expect so that I was more prepared for my 1st visit. However, I left feeling as though my needs had been met.
I actually met with Athena for intake/session and she was excellent - efficient, analytical, understanding inquisitive, and really good at summarizing the issue at hand. I will definitely return for more sessions, having made many strides in the preliminary session.
Very delightful and caring.
Reception seemed overwhelmed / understaffed so make sure you call them a few times to confirm your appointment if you're a first time patient
FYI, when I made an initial appointment with this doctor, I actually met with an intake specialist who said I would matched up with several possible therapists in the same office. Waiting to see how that goes, but be aware that you are not guaranteed to see this particular doctor when you make an appointment with her through here.
It was better then I hope...
You likely will see someone else in the office, not Vaia Delidimitropulu. The place is okay, but very disorganized. The first TWO appointments I made were cancelled by the office. When I showed up for the third one, the receptionist claimed I could not be seen because I was late (I showed them my zocdoc confirmation proving that I was right on time). The fourth appointment was rescheduled by the office. At the FIFTH appointment, to which I showed up 15 mins early, the receptionist said: "You're early and the doctor's running late...not a good combination. Go get a coffee." I coffeed and sat and sat, and was finally seen. The long-awaited session was pretty good. I'm sticking it out because zocdoc doesn't have many other choices in the neighborhood. The disorganization of this place, though--ironically underscored by the broken wall clocks--is very trying.
I really can't believe how this office ( along with the doctors) have good average.. Honestly.. Terrible. Never again
Initial meeting to be paired with a therapist was great. The atmosphere and in the office was comfortable and open.
It was great. I'm going back next week.
This was my first visit to the office. The intake counselor was very nice and efficient.
She's very good at what she does. I strongly recommend her.
I'm confident that I was in the right place. TY
