What should a new client know about working with you?

You can expect a warm, supportive space where you can speak openly and feel heard. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and practical. I take time to understand your concerns, personal history, and goals so we can create a treatment plan that fits your needs. During our first visit, we’ll discuss your symptoms, daily life, and previous treatment experiences. I provide psychiatric evaluations and medication management when appropriate, along with supportive therapy, coping strategies, and education. Medication decisions are made together, with clear explanations and room for questions. I welcome adults with a range of mental health concerns and have a special interest in women’s and maternal mental health. My goal is to help you feel informed and supported as we work toward meaningful progress at a pace that respects your comfort.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first appointment is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. We’ll discuss what brought you in, your symptoms, medical and mental health history, previous treatments, and goals. I’ll ask about sleep, stress, relationships, and daily functioning, and may use screening questionnaires to help clarify your concerns. We’ll then discuss my assessment and create a treatment plan together. This may include medication, supportive therapy, coping strategies, or a referral for specialized talk therapy. I explain treatment options and welcome your questions so you can make informed decisions. Follow-up visits focus on how you’re feeling, your progress, and any medication benefits or side effects. We’ll adjust your plan as needed and make space to discuss challenges and practical ways to manage them.
