About Valerie O'Connell
She has significant experience treating children, adults and seniors in all conditions of the hair, nail and skin. Prior to joining Pinnacle Dermatology, she held positions in North Carolina at a pediatric dermatology clinic, a general and surgical dermatology center and a laser and vein center.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Carlow University in Pittsburgh. She also has a master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Alderson-Broaddus College in Philippi, West Virginia. While earning her master’s degree she was named Student of the Year.
Her approach to care is to work collaboratively with all physicians, staff and administration. She always upholds the highest standards of professionalism, and she understands the key role she plays in diagnosis and treatment. Her training includes performing biopsies, excisions and sutures, managing laboratory testing, administering/monitoring medications and comprehensive, and overall total individualized patient care.

Was a quick appointment, stopped in and the doctor was very efficient and I was out in no time. The transition from online digital documents to on-site paperwork wasn't properly sent over, so I did have to go through and manually add on iPad

Valerie was so nice and helpful. She had several treatment options and listened to my concerns. The appointment went fast but I didn't feel rushed. Her recommendations fixed my issues. I would definitely return if I ever need anything else.
