While she attended UTHSCSA, she was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society . Vanessa began her nursing career in 2006 at Methodist Hospital working in a Progressive Care unit. In 2008, she joined Foundation Surgical Hospital specializing in post-operative patient care. While still employed at Foundation, she decided to return to school to further her nursing career as a Nurse Practitioner in 2010. In 2013 she graduated with Honors from UTHSCSA with a Master’s of Science in Nursing and became a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She is currently a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and Texas Nurse Practitioners (TNP). Vanessa is eager for the opportunity to apply her nursing experience and advanced practice education to provide quality care to patients, ensuring their needs and expectations are met.
