About Dr. Vaughn Hodges

Vaughn Hodges, M.D. is a board certified dermatologist and assistant professor at Mount Sinai. He currently sees patients of all ages Monday through Friday at our Morningside location. Dr. Hodges completed his residency at the University of California, San Francisco. He received his medical degree from SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society (?O?). He completed his internal medicine internship at Mount Sinai Beth Israel and received his undergraduate degree from Columbia University.
Dr. Hodges maintains a strong commitment to the teaching and mentorship of resident dermatologists and medical students and is committed to providing medical access to underserved communities. He has co-authored and contributed to several peer-reviewed publications and has performed numerous educational lectures on a variety of topics to fellow physicians and allied health professionals. Dr. Hodges is an expert in the detection of skin cancer and the treatment of acne, rosacea, atopic dermatitis, and psoriasis, as well as many other dermatologic concerns. Dr. Hodges aims to give personalized skin care for patients of all ages and skin types.

I wasn’t going to leave a review and was fine letting the survey I was reminded to take twice speak for itself, until staff called me with a “what’s the issue? We just like to follow up.” Staff were too casual with patients and shouldn’t need reminding they’re at work or be loudly chatting in a quiet area. I arrived early, used the kiosk, and it told me to go to the desk. The lady tells me I can use the kiosk. I tell her it directed me to her. She complains she “hates technology.” I sit down; staff is loudly talking about someone’s “Bob doing what it needed to do.” I had on headphones and still heard them. The nurse asks why I’m there, then, “Have you been diagnosed or did you diagnose yourself?” I did my research beforehand. One-word answers after that. The doctor asks why I think it’s the condition (which matched what I came in for). My mid rating is due to no N/A. I paused lunch so others on the spectrum can get real info and not just filtered reviews. Will not return.

My experience was great! The office staff was professional. I was treated with respect. The doctor was a consummate professional well versed in addressing my condition and explaining it in patient friendly terms. Dr. Hodges also demonstrated exemplary bedside manners-Something welcomed with learning about my condition and the anxiety associated with such a condition.
I already recommended this medical facility to someone experiences hair loss because I'm confident in Dr. Hodges and his office staff.

Overall wonderful experience. My insurance is terrible and Dr. Hodges did his best to find prescriptions that were covered or had GoodRX coupons and offered to make changes if I had any sticker shock at the pharmacy.
He’s a great listener and extremely knowledgeable. He took my lifestyle and career into account as well in helping me clear up my acne problem.
And the office staff is super nice, shout out to Grace who was really helpful and kind during input.
Highly recommend!

This office is great. Check-in process was easy and quick. Nurse Grace was a great listener and took down detailed notes before the doctor. Dr. Hodges was a great listener and very knowledgeable :)
I came in with skin itchiness concerns, and he was able to rule out some diagnoses and give me a potential one. Hopefully the routine prescribed will work. If not, I wouldn’t hesitate to go back for a follow-up.

My experience with Dr. Hodges far exceeded my expectations. I felt comfortable from the moment I walked in when I was greeted by the very warm and friendly front desk staff. There was a slight delay in getting my appointment room ready, but the staff communicated that promptly, and I was in the examination room only a few minutes past my appointment time. Grace, the nurse, was very congenial and pleasant to deal with, and Dr. Hodges himself was wonderful. He was kind, attentive, and a very good listener. Skin issues can be very demoralizing and difficult to speak about, but Dr. Hodges made me feel safe and supported throughout the visit. I left the office feeling wonderful, with a fully fleshed-out treatment plan, and really look forward to my next visit. 10/10, would recommend!
