About Dr. Veda Johnson
Dr. Veda Johnson is a graduate of the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, Arizona. A native Baltimorean, she obtained her B.A. in Liberal Arts with the primary concentration in Biology and minor concentration in Religious Studies from Notre Dame of Maryland University. She served as an adjunct professor in genetics at Notre Dame of Maryland University.
Dr. Johnson has served in the medical health field for over 40 years, in various allied health professions and environments such as: hospitals, prison systems, private clinics, and private homes. She provided care for a variety of age groups within specialties including: gerontology, pediatrics, OB/GYN, rheumatology, internal medicine, minor surgery, gastroenterology, and HIV medicine. She also has advanced training in Intravenous Nutritional Therapy. Experiencing medicine from so many different perspectives has allowed her to better understand the needs and concerns of her patients. She is able to combine this valuable knowledge with her training as a Naturopathic Doctor in order to provide effective patient care.
As a Naturopathic Doctor, Dr. Johnson wants to empower and inspire her patients to set and obtain positive health goals; to motivate them to be actively involved in a holistic (mind, body and spirit) approach to health; and, to provide healthcare tailored to their unique individual needs. Dr. Johnson is a fun-loving person and is the mother of four wonderful children and eight beautiful grandchildren. In addition to medicine, she enjoys a holistic lifestyle which is inclusive of: her spiritual family, cooking, music, reading and traveling.

Dr Johnson is thorough and personable. I always feel comfortable with her. She spends a considerable amount of time getting to know you, unlike most doctors who rush through your visit. She takes the time to explain in detail what might be going on with your body and how it’s suppose to function. She knows her stuff. You quickly get the feeling that she cares and loves helping you get healthy. You will not be disappointed! She’s a gem!

I had seen many doctors before meeting Dr. Veda Johnson and she is the only doctor that has shown concern for my health condition and offered an excellent treatment plan! She is an "active listener" (fully present in the conversation, asked open-ended questions to encourage more responses, paraphrased and reflected back on my responses). One can quickly see that she is very knowledgeable, attentive, analytical, empathetic, passionate, gracious, and friendly! My first appointment was a Telehealth appt. I live in Virginia, so this was quite convenient for me.
Dr. Veda was wonderful. She was kind, pleasant, and has a sense of humor. She herself spent quite a bit of time with me at intake. I was made aware of how thorough her testing will be that she may assess my overall health. She made me feel comfortable and assured as a patient. The staff member I had a phone conversation with prior to the appointment was equally as kind and helpful. Good first impressions really go a long way.

The initial consultation was thorough, Dr. Johnson was very engaging not to mention timely; I felt confident throughout the entire discussion and appreciated the opportunity to just be open and frank without feeling I was being cornered to take a bunch of meds. So far so good except for the unexpected expense for one of the tests.
