I'm Dr. Venkata Bodavula, MD, FACS — a board-certified, fellowship-trained hand surgeon serving the St. Louis area for over 20 years. Voted Best Hand Surgeon in Missouri in 2019. I trained at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York and the Curtis National Hand Center — two of the most prestigious hand surgery programs in the country. I also completed microvascular surgery training, allowing me to treat complex nerve and vessel injuries of the hand with a high level of precision. I am a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. I see patients at four convenient locations across the metro area: St. Peters (Mexico Road), Creve Coeur (Ballas Road), Bridgeton (McKelvey Road), and Troy (East Cherry Street) — so specialist hand care is never far from where you live or work. I treat the full range of hand and wrist conditions including carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, Dupuytren's disease, basal joint arthritis of the thumb, wrist arthritis, hand and wrist fractures, ganglion cysts, tendon and nerve injuries, De Quervain's tenosynovitis, mallet finger, sports hand injuries, and workers' compensation hand injuries. I am one of the few surgeons nationally performing endoscopic cubital tunnel release — a minimally invasive technique that offers faster recovery and a smaller incision than traditional open surgery. If you've been diagnosed with cubital tunnel syndrome, ask about whether this approach is right for you. I believe patients deserve a clear explanation of their diagnosis and all available options — surgical and non-surgical — before any decision is made. I never recommend surgery unless it is genuinely the best path forward. I hold hospital privileges at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters, Progress West, SSM Health DePaul, SSM Health St. Joseph, Mercy Hospital Creve Coeur, and Troy, and provide ER hand surgery coverage in St. Louis, St. Charles, and Lincoln Counties.
