“Vera made me so so comfortable from day one. She had me pegged after a few questions. I have high hope that she will be able to help me. She had me get some books that she thinks will help me. She seems really interested in me and what I can do to make myself happy and not focus on everyone around me. She is amazing ”

My name is Vera Solovieva, I am an MD, Ph.D., Board Certified psychiatrist. I received my medical degree in Irkutsk, Russia in 1966 from the Irkutsk State Medical University. Before emigrating to the United States, I worked as a psychiatrist for 19 years. Upon coming to the US in 1994, I completed the Psychiatric Residency Program at the Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine. I completed a fellowship in Addiction Psychiatry at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, in Bronx, NY. Psychiatry is my hobby and love. I speak 2 languages including English and Russian.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My goal is to make people more healthy and happy. I work with clients starting from age 18 years old till 95 years old. I believe that almost all symptoms get better just with psychotherapy, medication management, and alternative treatment options. Always I try to find reasons that caused symptoms. The client chooses the most comfortable option.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

Love my sessions with Vera, she listens and also give her honest and intellectual feedback.
The doctor was actually laughing at me during the first few minutes of the session and it was never completed. She would not work with me or help me. Not recommended.

Vera was combative and unable to recall details. 20 minutes into the conversation she was already confusing facts. She also stated that melatonin only gets secreted between 10pm and 2am which is not correct.

I had an incredibly disappointing and frustrating experience with Dr. Vera. From the moment I expressed concerns about my treatment plan and asked for a different medication, she was condescending, dismissive, and downright rude. Instead of engaging in a professional discussion, she called me a child for simply advocating for myself, which was both uncalled for and deeply unprofessional. When I asked about a higher dosage—something I believed was a reasonable request given my symptoms—she became visibly irritated and retaliatory, making it clear she felt professionally undermined. Rather than addressing my concerns, she seemed more focused on asserting her authority. Her snarky attitude and constant need to appear intellectually superior made the entire experience uncomfortable and unproductive. I would not recommend Dr. Vera to anyone seeking a compassionate or professional healthcare provider. Her behavior was completely unacceptable and left me feeling unheard and disrespected.

Her English was very bad, and conversation was quite difficult since she was slow and couldn't understand what we said (context wise) We will likely look for another doctor

Felt as if she was not listening to anything I was explaining but was stuck on my weight and that my obesity was the cause of my depression and anxiety but if she would she would have known I was much thinner when my anxiety and depression got much worse. I also told her that it started when I started having issues with my hands and legs and now I’m a wheelchair. All she said you that is I need physical therapy and start moving around more. Of this weren’t my first appointment she would know I have a physical and occupational therapists that come to my house weekly

Dr. Vera is incredible. I feel like she listens and truly cares for me; she provides psychotherapy on top of med management at each visit. She even gave me some book recommendations that she thought would be useful. I love her comprehensive approach to mental health.
