Getting to know Verkeitta Jones

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over a decade of experience supporting individuals through some of their most challenging seasons. My background includes work across hospital systems and a large federal healthcare setting, which has shaped my compassionate, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive approach to care. I specialize in treating anxiety, ADHD, depression, trauma, mood disorders, and stress-related concerns. My approach combines evidence-based medication management with supportive therapy and psychoeducation. I focus on creating a space where you feel heard, respected, and actively involved in your care. I am committed to providing inclusive, affirming care for BIPOC individuals, LGBTQ+ clients, professionals experiencing burnout, parents, and those navigating life transitions. My goal is to help you gain clarity, restore balance, and build sustainable strategies for long-term wellness. As the owner of Vera’s Loving Hands, LLC, I provide flexible, telehealth-based care for adults across Florida and Washington, with evening and Saturday availability. If you’re looking for a provider who listens, explains clearly, and partners with you in your care, I look forward to working with you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients describe my approach as calm, patient, and thorough. I take time to understand your unique history, strengths, and goals so you never feel rushed or overlooked. Appointments are collaborative, judgment-free, and centered around your individual needs. I value transparency, education, and shared decision-making, taking time to explain diagnoses, treatment options, and medication strategies in a clear and supportive way. My priority is building trust and creating a space where you feel safe, understood, and respected.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

To help make the most of our time together, you’ll receive a secure link after booking to complete your intake and insurance verification through my patient portal (Headway for insurance or Carepatron for self-pay). This process helps ensure everything is in place before your visit and allows your appointment to be confirmed. A typical first visit includes a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation where we review your symptoms, history, and treatment goals in a calm, collaborative setting. From there, we’ll develop a personalized treatment plan that may include medication management, supportive therapy, and practical strategies tailored to your needs. I focus on clear communication and shared decision-making so you feel informed and supported throughout your care.
