Marriage and Family Therapist
3660 N Lk Shr Dr, #201, Chicago, IL
Hello! I’m excited to meet you. I’m Veronica, a couples and family therapist who is dedicated to self-exploration and building authentic relationships. I provide in-person and virtual therapy for individuals (adults and teenagers) and relationships (couples, dyads, families, siblings, chosen family, etc.) in English and Spanish, with a particular passion for working with Latine, first-generation/immigrant, and LGBTQ+ communities. Together, we will foster curiosity about the origins of challenges, the stories you’ve been holding about yourself, and emotions that feel unresolved. Through our work, I hope your compassion for yourself blooms and you feel empowered to shift behaviors or perspectives that aren’t resonating with you. Fundamentally, I think it’s an honor to learn about the pieces of your life that are meaningful, distressing, exciting, confusing, and everything else in between. In pursuit of recognizing your vulnerability, I bring my genuine self to this work and meet you authentically. If this resonates with you, please reach out!

What should a new client know about working with you?

I invite my clients to examine distressing patterns in their lives from a trauma-informed, problem-centered, and strength-based perspective, in a close, collaborative environment. When working with my clients, I find it’s powerful to dig into what comes up in therapy and to use the environment as an opportunity to respond differently to challenges you navigate outside the room. This often involves looking inwards at the personal factors that contribute to challenges, and taking a step back to consider external factors as well. I am a relational therapist, which in practice means I strive to understand your experiences through the layers of your relationships with yourself, the folks who raised you, your loved ones, your community, and society at large. I believe that none of us live in a vacuum, and therefore it is vital to reflect on the broader contexts and cultures within which you exist. In exploring these dynamics, I take a humble, affirming, anti-oppressive, and systems-critical approach.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I specialize in working with couples, families, and individuals. The couples I work with experience challenges with reassurance-seeking behaviors, managing conflict, feeling like roommates, recovering from infidelity, and conflicting cultural scripts. My clients are seeking more connection, understanding, and partnership in their relationships. For individuals navigating trauma, I offer support through identity development, acknowledging grief or loss, and finding clarity in boundaries.
