Getting to know Victor Amobi
Greetings, I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over two decades of experience in psychiatric and behavioral health. I obtained my Master's degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Prior to this, I worked as an inpatient psychiatric nurse for over 12 years at the University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC) in Baltimore, Maryland, providing care in the Child/Adolescent unit, Adult Psychiatric unit, and Geropsychiatric units.
I am able to utilize and apply my advanced practice education and clinically acquired skills to deliver patient-centered and culturally sensitive care in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with psychiatric disorders.
What should a new client know about working with you?

Hyperactive disorder (ADD/ADHD),
Anxiety Disorders (Phobias, Obsessive Compulsive disorders etc.)
Bipolar/ Personality disorders
Psychotic spectrum disorders (schizophrenia, schizoaffective, delusional disorders etc)

Modes of Treatment:
Initial psychiatric evaluations (First appointment. Sessions can go up to 60minutes)
Medication management. Follow up appointments. Sessions range from 20-30minutes.
Approach: Holistic and Patient Centered Care with ultimate goal of recovery and remission of mood symptoms.

I would highly recommend going to another clinician. The wait time was ridiculous for an online appointment. I reached out to the office and they explained they were aware of the appointment and were reaching out to the provider, and I didn't hear anything else for another 30 minutes. The provider explained that this was the fault of the office for not properly contacting him, which I can understand. Regardless, I want to save someone the time by writing this and say to please find someone else if you don't want your time to be wasted.

Victor never showed up for my appointment and then the company claimed I didn’t have an appointment. After I showed them proof, they said they had no record of it even though they reached out to me for the copayment earlier in the day.

First, this provider never shows up on time. He has been late to every appointment.
Second, when we decided to switch my medication, I told him that I explicitly wanted to avoid a certain medication, and we agreed to a different med and came up with a plan to tartrate off my current med.
I go to the pharmacy and not only is the tartration dose different than what we discussed, but he had written a prescription for the med I EXPLICITLY asked not to go on, which we discussed at the meeting and it’s not even a starting dose, so even if it was what we discussed, it would be ineffective. I bring this up to the practice, and he tells them that this was the correct prescription, that i actually didn’t say I didn’t want to on this med. I feel like he lied to save his own butt. This is unacceptable for meds that affect brain chemistry. AVOID

I decided to try to switch to a new provider and chose Victor Amboi due to his high reviews on Zocdoc. After scheduling an appointment he said he would refill my medication that day to the pharmacy. My pharmacy said they never received it! After calling twice and leaving a voicemail no one called me back. They do say their preferred method is through Text so I texted them three times regarding not having my medication at the pharmacy no one responded! I even sent an email and could get ahold of no one! They are unprofessional and I would even go far to say con artists! How am I supposed to get in contact when NO ONE RESPONDS! If you are remotely considering seeing anyone in the practice I would say chose someone who reliable since it’s evident that it is incapable to get in contact! Know one should have to go through the stress of wondering if they will get their medication in time

Severe lack of communication from the NP. He will not respond to my pharmacy’s requests and I have been without medication for almost two weeks as a result. I have wasted hours of my time contacting their office for help. I also was made to wait for a telehealth visit and no one showed up or communicated any issues until after the session.
