About Dr. Vinaya Soundararajan
Dr. Vinaya Soundararajan practices medical, surgical, pediatric, and cosmetic dermatology. She received her medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She completed an internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago Hospital followed by a clinical trials research fellowship in pediatric dermatology at Northwestern University and Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. She then completed dermatology residency at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, where she served as chief resident during her final year.
Dr. Soundararajan enjoys treating patients of all ages and skin types. She has a passion for integrative dermatology, which incorporates diet and lifestyle into the treatment of chronic skin disease. In her spare time, she enjoys tennis, dance, cooking, listening to hip-hop/R&B, and spending time with her husband and daughter.

I never felt so unimportant at a Doctor’s appointment. I had so much hope for it, took pictures of my skin problem evolution and had questions about vitamin or nutrition deficit or underlying health conditions that might be influencing the onset of my condition. I was rushed into this 4 minute visit in which I wasn’t even invited to sit on the examination chair, the Doctor (along with her shadowing secretary who seemed harried) stood next to me on the corner and asked just one question, then rapidly named the options for it without giving an explanation for the posible cause, posible origin and internal dermatologic processes that might undergo in the evolution of my type of lesion other than the cookie cutter “this is age related” sentence, which immediately shuts any interest in finding solutions or making sure all possible concomitant causes are reviewed and/or improved in order to diminish the situation. I felt they were trying to get it over with ASAP.

Great experience. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Doctor had a gentle touch for removal of lesions. She was highly knowledgeable and respectful, and the overall experience was really nice. I highly recommend this doctor!
