About Dr. Vinod Patel
With over seven years in practice, Dr. Vinod Patel is honored to serve the internal medicine and cardiology needs of Brooklyn with a focus on cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, and cardiology imaging. He prides himself in remaining compassionate, professional, and knowledgeable.
Dr. Patel utilizes cutting-edge technology and equipment, and he offers nuclear studies, echocardiography in-house. A true scientist and researcher at heart, Dr. Patel holds patents for medical devices he has developed – chief among them a mechanical pump that treats patients with refractory congestive heart failure. Dr. Patel attended medical school at Saurastra University / MP Shah Medical College, before heading to Loyola University Chicago Resurrection Hospitals for his residency in internal medicine. He has completed a number of prestigious fellowships, including Interventional Cardiology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine.
Dr. Patel has co-authored over 25 pieces of published research, and he is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Not one to sit still, Dr. Patel also regularly serves on task forces, including a committee in 2004 which developed protocols for diabetes mellitus. When he has spare time, Dr. Patel loves to take in art, play sports, and travel. He is fluent in four languages, including Gujarati, Hindi, and Urdu.
