He is engaged in scholarly writing and academic research. His primary areas of expertise include assessment and treatment of mood, anxiety, personality, substance use, and psychotic disorders.
Dr. Novakovic provides individualized treatment that may include different forms of psychotherapy and offers his expertise in pharmacotherapy when needed. Dr. Novakivic had a professional and great beside manner. Seemed engaged and empathetic. However, after only 45 mins of our first discussion it was clear he did not hear me, decided to treat symptoms, rather than underlying condition, and failed to validate the help I needed. He made an assumption and chose not to collaborate with my clinical psychologist to get me the support needed.
As pleasant as he was during our appointment, he made a comment that conveyed he thought I would be drug seeking. I left the appointment feeling shame and helpless.

Dr. Novakovic has a friendly and very professional demeanor. he doesn't "watch the clock" as they say, he gives you his undivided attention. He engages in a way that confirms that he isn't just listening, he actually paying attention. I didn't feel judged or rushed. By the end of the session, you realize that you are going to get treatment with someone with a lot of experience and expertise.

I was misunderstood by my previous psychiatrist and had to look for help elsewhere, Dr. Novakovic gives you the chance to talk about your issues in great detail and truly listens and cares, he also asked very in depth questions during my diagnoses that my previous psychiatrist ignored, highly recommend.

Dr. Novakovic called to check in with me when I canceled the appointment I had made with him online. We hadn't even spoken yet! On a Saturday afternoon, he gave me his next immediate availability. Dr. Novakovic asked thorough and clear questions, yet he was reflective and thoughtfully provided feedback. He wasn't just checking boxes towards a diagnosis. When there was an issue with my pharmacy shortly after our appointment, Dr. Novakovic returned my call promptly and made the appropriate adjustments immediately so I could receive the medication in a timely fashion. I feel blessed to have found him through ZocDoc and that he was so readily willing and able to be the medical professional that was needed.
