Wanda Jackson, LMFT

Marriage and Family Therapist
CA
Greetings! My name is Wanda Mercedes Jackson, and I am a Bilingual (Spanish) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) practicing in the State of California. I am a daughter of immigrants and a first generation Dominican American. I have held the distinct honor of serving as a trauma steward to children, adolescents and adults in crisis. My labor of love began in New York City, continued in the State of Washington and culminated in California. I have worked with diverse populations in three states across all life span stages. My ideal client is someone who has reached a point where they’re tired of carrying everything on their own. They might appear “fine” on the outside — functioning at work, caring for others, staying busy — but inside, they feel anxious, disconnected, or overwhelmed. They may struggle with self-doubt, perfectionism, people-pleasing, or the sense that they’ve lost touch with who they really are. Often, they’ve spent years putting others first and are now realizing they need space to explore their own needs, feelings, and dreams. They want to feel calmer, more confident, and more at peace with themselves. They’re looking for clarity — My approach is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and respect. I believe each person’s story is unique, and together we’ll find the tools and strategies that fit you best. Whether we’re working through anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, or past experiences, I strive to create a space where you can feel safe, supported, and empowered to grow.

What should a new client know about working with you?

As a trauma steward I have over 15 years of experience offering support to children, adolescents, adults and families in crisis. I am licensed in CA and hold additional certifications in trauma-informed therapy. I have worked in nonprofit, education, medical setting, county and state government. I offer Teletherapy in a warm, inviting and supportive, virtual space where you are able to explore, heal, and grow—no matter where you are.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I am your sojourner walking hand in hand until you arrive to your final destination also known as the last session. I will extend to you an invitation to share as much or as little about your personal life with each step you take. A combination of psychoeducation, psychological assessments, diagnosis and a treatment plan will be designed based on your symptoms. This map will lead you home.
