About Dr. Wellington Davis

Philosophy of care There is no clinical problem too big or too small. I am happy doing a total cranial vault reconstruction or removing an embedded earring backing. It's important to remember that something easy for a physician can still cause anxiety for a patient and family. Being mindful of their needs and reducing anxiety is a key part of my care. Most parents just want to know their child will be okay. Why I entered medicine I entered medicine because I loved anatomy and physiology and wanted to help people return to health. It's easy to forget this amid healthcare complexities. I enjoy working with medical students and residents because they remind me how important and rewarding my work is. Education and training I earned my Doctor of Medicine from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. I completed a General Surgery residency at Maimonides Medical Center, a Plastic Surgery residency at Loyola University Medical Center, and a Craniofacial Surgery fellowship at the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne. Community involvement I have participated in multiple overseas medical volunteer trips: two to Peru with the Peruvian American Medical Society, one to Lusaka, Zambia with the Pain Free Foundation, and trips to Peru and the Ivory Coast with the Global Smile Foundation. I have done cleft lip and palate work, burn reconstruction, and pediatric plastic surgery such as webbed hand reconstruction. I plan to continue working with the Global Smile Foundation. Personal interests Outside work, I enjoy creative pursuits: vinyl, concerts, playing music, exploring superhero mythology, and watching Marvel movies.
