Wendy Young is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who has worked in various settings, including teaching, before entering healthcare. She began her academic journey at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Education. She then started her early career as an elementary school teacher for the Clark County School District in Las Vegas and the Department of Defense Dependent Schools (DODDS) in Okinawa, Japan. Wendy furthered her education by earning a Master's Degree in Education from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA. After completing multiple degrees with distinguished honors, Wendy transitioned to nursing. She earned her Associate of Science in Nursing from Wallace Community College and her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Chipola College in Marianna, FL. She initially worked in Neuro and Cardiac ICUs in Dothan, AL, and Orlando, FL, as well as several ICU travel assignments in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and New York. Continuing her professional growth, Wendy completed her Master's Degree in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from Herzing University in Orlando, preparing her to provide specialized mental health care with compassion and expertise.

Wendy is dedicated to providing a safe, nonjudgmental environment for each of her patients and cultivates a relationship where the patients feel secure to voice their feelings and concerns, regardless of their struggles. She is a compassionate, understanding, and sensitive listener dedicated to finding solutions to help patients live healthy, happy lives.

Wendy is very professional and provides excellent care and at the same time makes you feel very comfortable. She is easy to talk to and a great listener.
Very friendly and professional. Seemed to be genuinely interested in me and workig out a plan for my treatment. Would definitely recommend Wildwood Family Psychiatric.
