Getting to know Whitney Robinson

Ms. Whitney Robinson is a family psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioner. She sees patients in person at Growth Mindset Wellness P.C. in Stockbridge, GA. She also provides virtual consultations. As part of her formal education, Ms. Robinson obtained a post-master's certificate in psychiatric and mental health nursing from Valdosta State University. She is a dual-certified nurse practitioner with nearly a decade of emergency department experience and additional training in psychiatry. She offers medication management for a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, mood changes, focus issues, sleep problems, and stress-related symptoms. Ms. Robinson strives to create a safe, non-judgmental space for her patients to share their thoughts and feelings. She listens to their concerns and develops customized treatment plans to meet their needs, goals, and preferences.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I keep things real, supportive, and low-pressure. I offer medication management along with supportive therapy that’s grounded in CBT principles. We’ll talk about what’s going on, what you’ve already tried, and what goals you’d like to work toward. If medication seems like a good fit, I’ll walk you through your options and answer any questions along the way. You don’t need to have the right words or a full plan before your visit — just come as you are. My goal is to help you feel heard, supported, and empowered to take the next step in your care. Let’s make it better — together.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A typical first session is a mix of conversation and information-gathering. I’ll ask about your current symptoms, medical and mental health history, lifestyle, and what’s been going on recently — all at your pace. We’ll talk through what’s working, what’s not, and what you’re hoping to change. I do offer supportive therapy grounded in CBT, but I’m also here to help determine whether medication could be a helpful part of your care. If we decide to move forward with medication, I’ll explain your options and make sure you’re comfortable with the plan. Follow-ups are usually shorter and focused on how things are going, adjusting the plan if needed, and checking in on your goals. Whether you’re brand new to mental health treatment or returning after a break, I’ll meet you where you are — no pressure, no judgment.
