About Dr. William Abramovits
Dr. William Abramovits was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Sciences in 1966 from the Colegio Santiago de Leon de Caracas.
He then went to the Venezuela Central University where he obtained his degree of Physician and Surgeon (MD) in 1972. Then he did an entire Internal Medicine residency from 1973 to 1976 at The University of Texas Medical School in Houston, Texas and followed that by a Dermatology residency at The University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA) from 1976 to 1979. Thereafter he obtained the Board Certification In Dermatology.
Dr. Abramovits practiced dermatology for 10 years in Caracas and returned to practice initially in South Texas and since 1989, in Dallas, affiliated to the now Baylor Scott and White University Hospital in Dallas. During his career he has published approximately two hundred articles in medical journals and wrote or edited several textbooks of dermatology.
He is a frequent guest lecturer to United States Dermatologic Society meetings and to international medical meetings. His areas of expertise being medical dermatology, including atopic dermatitis (eczema), psoriasis, immunity and inflammation disorders, and cryosurgery.
He is also an educator of medical students, residents of family practice, internal medicine, and dermatology at several university post-graduate programs.
Dr. Abramovits enjoys traveling nationally and worldwide, baseball and soccer and loves being with his family, friends, children and grandchildren.

My copay was feeling not what I was told by ZocDoc ($45). It was almost twice that amount. The doctor's bedside manner was very pleasant and he calmed me down while I was hysterical about drastic and sudden hair loss. He reassured me everything would be okay and the loss is reversible. He explained the process and raid to recovery. I was able to get a sane day appointment. Office staff was welcoming and pleasant.

I specifically selected this doctor because they were listed as covered with my insurance plan through ZocDoc. I’ve uploaded my card so be sure that my information is correct. I get to the appointment and the front desk lady says they don’t take my insurance and that this is an ongoing issue with Blue Cross of Texas insurance. But nOtHiNg CaN bE dOnE taken off the list. Hopefully some bad reviews will get the ball rolling so this doctors office can’t waste any more people’s time. This office does not take blue cross blue shield of Texas PPO plan as they pay to advertise on this site.

I saw this doctor for hair loss that was affecting my whole body. The staff and nurse who took care of me were both awesome and attentive and I was seen as soon as I finished my intake paperwork. The doctor himself was extremely knowledgeable, got right to the point, explained everything in a clear and easy to understand manner, actually listened and answered my questions without hesitation, he had an awesome energy and easygoing personality and made me feel like he truly cared about my concerns and issues. I finally felt validated and I finally got answers to the cause of my hair loss (it’s two forms of alopecia) after seeing several other dermatologists. Oh! And he ordered a pretty extensive list of bloodwork which showed he was determined to further figure out the root cause behind my Alopecia. I HIGHLY recommend him for any dermatology related issues, well, at least for hair loss related things as that’s what I saw him for. 10/10 doctor right here.
