About Dr. William Sheppard
Dr. William Sheppard has been practicing in Wilmington, Delaware since 2002. He is a board-certified otolaryngologist–head and neck surgeon and a fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology. His clinical practice includes the medical and surgical treatment of ear, nose, and throat disorders in both pediatric and adult patients.
Originally from South Carolina, Dr. Sheppard graduated magna cum laude from Clemson University in 1993 and earned his medical degree with honors from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1997. While at MUSC, he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, served as president of the Honor Council, and was elected class president during both his third and fourth years.
He completed his residency at SUNY–Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York, in 2002, where he was named Surgical Intern of the Year, served as chief resident, and published research on Meniere’s disease.
Dr. Sheppard holds hospital privileges at ChristianaCare and St. Francis Hospital. He regularly lectures on a wide range of ENT topics to physicians, residents, medical students, and community audiences. He feels fortunate to be part of the medical community in Delaware and proud to practice with ENT and Allergy of Delaware.
Outside of work, Dr. Sheppard enjoys life in Wilmington with his wife. Now that their three sons have graduated college and settled in New York, he also enjoys frequent visits to the city. At home, he can often be found practicing hot yoga with his wife, running, golfing, or staying active through other recreational sports.

The office staff, Nurse and Dr, Sheppard were all fine. I am NOT happy with Zodoc. It took me approx 15 minutes to take photos of Medicare and Tricare ID cards and upload to Zodoc site. Then when I get to appt, the lady made copies anyway! Therefore, my time was wasted. After check-in, I get text from Zodoc asking me if I arrived for my appt!? This Zodoc crap is STALKING ME! I don’t want anything more to do with Zodoc and I will NOT load the app onto my phone or iPad.

Dr. Sheppard removed my tonsils when I was in my 30's. The process was flawless. He's also treated me multiple times over the last 20 years. His bedside manner is second to none. Coming from a person with some health anxiety, that means a lot. He takes the time to listen to your concerns and gives you good informational feedback.
