William (Wiley) Bowditch Rogers Jr, LMFT

Marriage and Family Therapist
CA
Based in Oakland, CA, I am a licensed therapist offering comprehensive support to individuals across various age groups, with a primary focus on teenagers and adults. My approach is integrative, drawing from Narrative Therapy, Relational Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to address a variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, relational issues, and trauma. After my counseling psychology degree at the Wright Institute, I worked in public schools addressing adolescent challenges and trauma. More recently, under the guidance of Dr. Grace Malonai, I trained in neuro-affirming therapy. I specialize in ADHD, autism, giftedness, and high sensitivity, with a broad practice and referral network. While I primarily meet with clients via telehealth, I'm open to discussing in-person sessions. If you think you might be interested in working together, I invite you to schedule a free 15-minute consultation. Let's explore if we're a good fit for your needs. I'm in the process of developing a sailing group therapy curriculum on the Bay. Stay tuned!

What should a new client know about working with you?

As a therapist, I value authenticity, connection, creativity and humor. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is necessary to build the trust and safety needed for change. I am foremost a client centered/strength based therapist. Acceptance and encouragement define my way of being both inside and outside of this work.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I offer therapy services to clients throughout the state of California, primarily through telehealth platforms. While my practice is predominantly conducted online, I'm open to discussing in-person meetings if preferred. For individual therapy, I typically meet with clients on a weekly basis for 50-minute sessions, with a session rate of $195. I offer sliding scale options for those in need. Additionally, I work with couples and find that longer sessions, typically 90 minutes, are most beneficial for relationship work. As someone deeply passionate about the transformative power of the outdoors and sailing, I'm in the process of developing opportunities for clients to engage in therapy sessions individually or in groups on the San Francisco Bay aboard a sailboat. I've found this to be an especially powerful medium for working with adolescents, providing a unique and therapeutic experience in a natural setting."
