“I have seen many psychiatrists for treatment of depression and anxiety over 25 years. Dr. Winter is by far the most professionally attuned for medicine management while also being unpretentious, friendly and kind. His office is well organized , communicates well and is easy to work with. His sense of humor and his humanity are just perks of working with him. ”

He is a very good listener and asks questions about how you are feeling and makes small talk instead of just doing medicine management like many other doctors. I appreciate that he is willing to get to know me more as a person instead of just as an entry on a calendar. He is a bit strange and funny but in a good way, it makes me feel less like I am being evaluated like other psychiatrists have made me feel. He has done a great job listening to my treatment requests and suggesting courses of treatment based on what I think is right for me.

Due to the current pandemic, I was seen via video and phone chat. I was a bit worried but Dr. Winter quickly made me feel very comfortable. He's patient and down to earth. We went over everything. He asked all the right questions a knowledgeable, caring doctor would ask. Thank you. Stay safe.

My first appointment with Dr. Winter was excellent; he was very kind and bedside manner was fantastic; even through our Zoom call he found ways to connect personally and make me feel comfortable. I will certainly be coming back and highly recommend Dr. Winter.

Dr. Winter just gives off judgmental vibes which is not what you want in a mental health professional. He also makes you come in for an appointment every 3 months if you want your prescriptions refilled, even if you’re doing fine on your meds long-term. He was not responsive when I needed medical documentation from him, even after he acknowledged receipt of my request which included the urgent nature of the situation. A psychiatrist shouldn’t make you MORE anxious!

His office was very dirty, the smell was so bad it was literally making me nauseous. His dog was in the office and was obviously having accidents all over which were not properly cleaned up.

Dr winter was amazing with my son. My son was scared of the dog and to accommodate him Dr. Winter played games with him in the hallway where he was comfortable. That’s an amazing person who considers his patients

Very good visit . I wanted to book another appointment but he never responded to my messages so I got the hint he didnt want to take me on as a patient I wish he would have been upfront and tell me he doesn’t want to treat
Me ..that’ would Have been the professional thing to do rather then ignore my messages

Dr. Winter was wonderful. Easy to talk to and very thorough in his evaluation. He really took the time to listen and provide valuable feedback. I'm really happy my friend referred me.

Would never recommend him. He basically just sits there and stares at you in this awkward silence. He also just uses things he doesn't have to boost your confidence which was weird IE i have hair i should be fine. Also his receptionist over looked my insurance plan let me go there 3 times before they noticed and then stuck me with a massive bill

Dr. Winter was professional, knowledgable and made me feel comfortable in discussing my concerns. There was an open dialogue throughout the session and I felt a sense of relief following the appointment having voiced my issue and receiving his professional feedback.

I can not even begin to explain how unprofessional the young women working in his office are. To have such a disgusting attitude that I arrived a hour early for my appointment seriously bother you. You're the assistant for Christ sake, not the owner of the building. Are you kidding me? There was no one in the office. As well as discussing other patients while there are current patients within earshot. On the note to the doctor, he can drift into space with his conclusions and at times come off as a quack. He will at times state irrelevant theories, that will either confuse you or prove not to be a solution to your problem.

I liked my visit with Dr. Winter. I went in fearing that my problems were laughable but he took me and my issues seriously. He was nice and asked a lot of questions which made it all feel much less one sided. Also there are Legos in his office which is an awesome touch.

Dr. Winter was very personable and seemed like he genuinely cared about my well being. He put things into laymen's terms so I could understand and was attentive towards my needs as a patient. I highly recommend him.

Dr Winter seems genuinely interested to help the patient. The doctor does not have a set method of treatment and is able to be flexible to accommodate your psychological needs.
March 27, 2014Initials hidden
Dr. Winter was patient, insightful and understanding. He gave me the time I needed. He was very clear. At the end of the session he discussed with me what the problem was and how we would make it better. Personally, I have debilitating anxiety. At the end of the session we had 8 minutes left and he did a guided meditation with me and it worked really well! I look forward to future sessions were we can do more. Dr. Winter is not an “in the box” doctor. He doesn’t just throw meds at you like so many others. He wants to help, and he does.

This was by far the worst appointment I've ever had with ANYONE.
He had a terrible bedside manner and made offensive, rude comments that made me feel upset. I cannot speak for how he was raised as a human being, but I can speak for his behavior as a professional when I say that, without a doubt, my meeting with him was the most unprofessional experience I've ever had with a psychiatrist in my life. When a patient confides in someone to speak about personal, sensitive matters, it is completely inappropriate to speak freely as if I were one of his "bros" at the bar. He said some of the terribly unprofessional, and slightly mysogynistic things that I don't feel comfortable putting on the internet.
Although I don't doubt his knowledge with medication (the plaques on his wall must mean something, unless they are the product of clever Photoshopping and a trip to Staples), however, I do not understand how he keeps patients with his undermining tone and casual, disconcerting manner. I will see to it that my complaint is known on various websites that misleadingly list you as a professional.

I've been seeing Dr. Winter now for a few years, I'm happy to see him on here. Great, great doctor and listener. I've been to a lot of psychiatrists who get you in and out, Dr. Winter actually takes the time to thoroughly talk to you for a accurate evaluation. He does not throw you on medicines for no reason, he's clear on what to expect from any medicines and does not jump on just giving you temporary meds that will cause an enormous amount of really terrible withdrawals or addictions. In other wards, he treats you as a whole human being, with priorities, jobs, kids...things to do other than feeling down. He allows you to work things out and figure out things on your own (not "telling you what your problems are) with using little strategies to guide you in the right direction. Wonderful doctor! I got super lucky! Two locations! He likes to meet you so that you can evaluate if you feel comfortable with him and vise versa. That shows a great doctor, with your interest in mind!
