Getting to know Xiao Fu

Hi, I’m Xiao, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specializing in medication management and integrative psychiatry. I treat adults with anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, trauma-related symptoms, insomnia, and other mental health concerns. My approach combines conventional psychiatry with evidence-based attention to sleep, nutrition, lifestyle, and supplements. I also have a special interest in hyperbolic tapering of SSRIs and benzodiazepines and may offer ketamine treatment for appropriate patients after evaluation.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My practice is best suited for patients looking for thoughtful medication management rather than weekly psychotherapy. I want you to understand your options and be involved in decisions about your care. I’m comfortable discussing both medications and complementary approaches, including situations where your goal is to reduce medication rather than add another one. Brief supportive therapy may be incorporated into our visits, but I DO NOT provide therapy-only services.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Your first visit is about getting the full picture—what you’re experiencing, what you’ve tried, what has or hasn’t worked, and what you want from treatment. From there, we create a practical plan. Follow-ups are used to track progress, fine-tune medications, address side effects, and adjust the plan as your needs change. When indicated, we may also discuss labs, supplements, lifestyle interventions, medication tapering, or ketamine treatment.
