About Dr. Xuan Nguyen
Dr. Nguyen is the first double-boarded dermatologist (Adult and Pediatric) in the state of Arizona (2008). She earned her Doctor of Medicine and completed both her Internal Medicine and Dermatology residencies-all at the University of Arizona, Tucson-and pursued a Fellowship in Pediatric Dermatology at Phoenix Children's Hospital.
She served as Faculty Attending Physician for Mayo Clinic Dermatology Residents from 2007 to 2015 and co-founded the Vascular Malformation Clinic at Phoenix Children's. Dr. Nguyen was Chief of Dermatology at Maricopa County Hospital from 2009 to 2015.

She learned English in Alabama and Spanish in California. Her son describes her accent as ?surfer girl with a drawl.?
Adult:
Dr. Nguyen specializes in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. She has significant experience treating hair and nail disorders and complex cases such as lupus, psoriasis, eczema, advanced skin cancers, scars, and even leprosy. Her unique experience with skin of color and her work with burn patients at the Arizona Burn Center enhance her skills in cosmetic dermatology. Her work has been published in the New England Journal of Medicine and the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, and she has presented her research nationally and internationally.
Pediatric:
Dr. Nguyen helped pioneer propranolol therapy for infantile hemangioma in 2008. Her expertise includes treating severe eczema, psoriasis, congenital moles, vascular malformations, and other birthmarks. Her work has been published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and Pediatric Dermatology, and she has presented her research nationally.
