Getting to know Dr. Yael Jerome

We are all feeling pulled in multiple directions and struggle to manage it all. Therapy can help you create more balance in your life and improve your relationships with others. While I like to create a warm and non-judgmental space to allow you to share your feelings, I tend to take a more interactive “hands-on” approach. I consider therapy to be an active and collaborative process where we will work together to get you where you need to be. Our work together and the relationship we create is a very important part of this process and contributes to lasting change. I can help you identify patterns in your life and figure out what is working for you and what is not, while providing you with the tools to make these changes. I earned my PsyD in Clinical Psychology and my Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Yeshiva University’s Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. I also hold a Bachelor’s degree from Tufts University.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I have a warm and interactive approach to therapy. I take a very active role with clients and the work we do together.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Before we meet I set up a phone consultation to see if we are a good match to work together and to ensure that I am able to provide the help that is needed. At our first appointment together I do an intake where I get some background information in order to get a better sense of what is going on in your life and to really figure out what goals you have for therapy.
